Riverside Retreat Chalets consist of two and three bedroom chalets located in a very tranquil setting on the banks of the Frankland River. Access is gained from the Number 1 Highway South Coast Highway only 8 kms to the east of Walpole towards the Tree Top Walk 5 kms.
These fully self-contained chalets offer complete comfort and all enjoy great views. They are well spaced with rolling lawns and native plants providing a feeling of total privacy. The kitchen and living areas feature large windows to enable guests to enjoy the out side features. Each chalet has reverse cycle heating/cooling, own private bbq and undercover parking PLUS cosy wood fires for use during the cool winter nights. Towels and linen provided, electric blankets on all beds, TV and DVD players provided.
Found on the property itself are kangaroos, quokkas and an abundance of bird life, including osprey, blue wrens, robins, fantails, willy wagtails, tame magpies, golden whistlers and honeyeaters, to name a few
Also find time to enjoy the large array of native flora in the form of banksias, grevillias, bottle brush etc. that add an additional food source for the many birds.
You are able to fish from our private jetty or even make use of our canoes which are included in the tariff. The Frankland River would be between 100 and 150 metres wide in front of Riverside Retreat so just to walk down and say "Hi" to the pelican is an absolute 'must'. The tennis court is also for everyones use. A walk trail extends around the property or should you desire a longer trek it is only a short walk up to the Wilderness Area and the Bibbulmun Track. An opportunity that is only available on a clear night is to check out the stars - particularly if you come from a city or the northern hemisphere.
The local area within 30 kms of Riverside Retreat offers some of the most amazing forests and beaches in the world. It truly is NATURE AT ITS BEST. As well as the famous Tree Top Walk, Valley of the Giants, the Giant Tingle Tree, Conspicuous Cliffs, Mandalay Beach, Mt Frankland and Fernhook Falls, to name a few, we also have the best boat cruise available in the form of the WOW Wilderness Cruise. Check it out.
It is also very easy to access the areas of Albany and Denmark from here as a day's outing.
