Eco Retreat for Green Living
In true Freo style we are all about embracing green living at The Fremantle House, without compromising on comfort.
Electricity is supplemented by the solar panel system on the roof. Most lighting in the house is highly efficient LED's with the exception of low emission halogens used in the work area downlights. Climate is controlled by 4 x reverse cycle air-conditioners with inverter technology and an inbuilt ioniser and air purifiers. There is also ceiling fans and optional gas heating for extra cosiness.
Water is heated by a 6 star instantaneous gas hot water system so those hot showers or baths never run out, no matter how many people are in the house. All water into the kitchen passes through a double filtration system.
Local recycling is fully utilised and most organic waste is dealt with onsite by our very healthy worm farm and for the bits the worms don't like we have a bokashi fermenting system. The liquid produced by both systems is then used to feed our organic garden.
All bed linen and towels are 100 cotton or wool. There is a choice of pillows available to guests; latex, feather or non-allergenic.
We supply complimentary toiletries for our guests to enjoy, most are organic .
Non-toxic cleaning products and organic detergents for the dishwasher and clothes washing machine are supplied.
The cabinetry in the kitchen is formaldehyde-free and we have used recycled jarrah to build the pergola roofs and deck structure. Natural fibres are our preferred choice.
