You will be staying in a private luxury guest room, which is separate to our home. You can expect to enjoy unique breakfasts with a healthy twist. Situated near to John Forrest National Park, you will be close to nature. You will be within walking distance to some beautiful waterfalls in winter & spring, and the historic Parkerville tavern.
We're all about helping guests to relax, be in nature, and get away from it all - while being in complete luxury
This is one of two guest rooms. Other than a common wall, the guest rooms are completely separate, with separate entrances, etc. The Quenda Room is an elegantly styled room, with a king size bed with minimal partner disturbance, walk-through shower and underfloor heating, and is set in a beautiful location. From zero-VOC paint to the naturally sealed floor, the room has been built with as much care for the environment as possible. The room is cleaned using only natural cleaning products. Organic personal care products are provided for use during your stay. Your hot water is heated from the sun and power is largely supplied through our PV system. Summer nights in Hovea are rarely hot and the ceiling fan over the bed will keep you perfectly cool. There are modern conveniences such as WIFI and a TV in your room with Netflix; but your mobile phone will not work here.
You have access to the pool, the grounds of our property which includes Jane Brook, and the 26.78 km² of nearby John Forrest National Park. The guest room is detached from the main home and your entrance is therefore private. There are many outdoor spaces to relax around the property. At the bottom of our property, you will find our bridge which will take you to the old Railway Reserve Heritage Trail. The trail is popular for walks and bike riding.
Interaction with guests:
We are both travellers and we love to meet people from all over the world.
We are always keen to chat over a chai tea or coffee to share suggestions for places to see nearby.
Other things to note:
This is one of two guest rooms. There are no common living areas, just two guest rooms with one common wall between them, both separate to the main house. Therefore, there may be 2 other guests -maximum- staying here while you are. We love to generate a community feel, and we welcome you to say hi to your fellow guests, while still enjoying your own space and privacy. There are plenty of outdoor spaces to relax on our 1.5 acre property.
We have a cat who lives indoors in the main house.
Bring your walking shoes as there are so many wonderful walks near to us. We will supply insect repellent and sun screen if you need it.
In terms of us, Jeremy is working on a start up business - SpacetoCo - and has a background in IT and teaching. Claire is a Registered Nurse and qualified Naturopath.
We are happy to cater your breakfast to suit your dietary needs including GF, DF, vegetarian, vegan, paleo etc...Our breakfasts are a highlight for many guests - and are created by our in-house naturopath. Amazingly good and guilt-free breakfasts are our specialty
Hovea is actually the largest locality in the Perth metro area but it's made up mostly of John Forrest National Park. The old railway reserve will take you directly into the park. The natural environment is mostly Jarrah forest which is unique to SW Australia. The area is very historic as much of the early development of Perth headed out East.
The Perth Hills are best explored by car. Drive to us and drive yourself around the hills, as there is limited public transport, but plenty of parking and stunning scenery to enjoy.
