Montoro House - port Kennedy - Perth. HUGE 4 bedroom, 2 bathroom house with own swimming pool safely fenced off to protect the little ones.

Western Australia is the only place to be in my eyes. It boasts glorious white sandy beaches which stretch for literally miles and clear sparkling water. Perth city is one of the prettiest i've ever seen, with the view from Kings Park especially at night breath-taking.

Late night shopping in the city on Friday is great and what better way to relax but in nearby Northbridge, where eating and night clubs are a plenty. Where else would you get to hand feed kangaroo's and parrots but in Perth. Fremantle is only a short car or train ride away where it boasts the best market in Perth.

The street restaurants and cafe's are a must and even the prison tour if your gameespecially the night tour. Don't forget to take a trip to Mandurah to see how the others live in their canal style, executive homes. Further down the coast is the fabulous winery's at Margaret river, and the surfers paradise.

Port Kennedy is only minutes from Rockingham and a little further south Mandurah, a seaside holiday resort. Swimming with the dolphins is available at Rockingham where they provide wet suits and you literally swim amongst them which is awesome. Yes i did it.

Also penguin island is only minutes away which you can walk to when the tide is out, or take the boat. The beaches stretch from North to South as far as the eye can see. Why not have a bbq at one of the many parks located at the beach or just take a picnic.

Further down the coast is Hillary's Boat Harbour with shops and restaurants galore. It also has water slides and a trampoline area for the kids and the safest of beaches, which are ideal for the very young children, while the older ones can jump off the jetty. It also boasts sun sails for those sensitive skins when the sun gets that bit hot.

A must is a short ferry ride to beautiful Rottnest Island where you can hire bicycles for all ages and cycle around the island and get to hand feed the quokka's. Also not to be missed is Perth Zoo. Good fishing spots can be found off the rocks at the Marina's or simply just off the beach whilst enjoying our beautiful sunset. What are you waiting for????

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic property We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Montoro house in Port Kennedy. There was plenty of room for all of us with queen size beds in three of the rooms, a kids room with bunk beds, two lounge rooms, a spacious kitchen and a pool to cool down in. Quiet location with shops very close by.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fun holiday house!! The house is amazing. It’s huge! There are four spacious bedrooms; two sets of bunks in one, and three full sized beds in the others. (We pulled a mattress of an unused bunk and put it on our room for our little one. But there is also a portacrib in the garage. (Along with a high chair and an umbrella stroller.) There are two full bathrooms, one with a tub. There is a TV room with doors that close. And a huge couch that fits everyone. There is also a pool table that got a LOT of use.

The pool is wonderful! We had so much fun swimming every day. The morning stays shaded a large part of the day...at least partially shaded…so plenty of swimming without the full sun. I especially loved that the floors to the bathroom and kitchen were not carpeted, because kids + swimming = wet floors.

We thoroughly enjoyed the house and the surrounding areas. There are numerous parks in the area, including one just down the block.

My only areas of concern for future travelers are these:

There is no wifi. You can get a pocket wifi that will allow VERY limited internet usage. NO videos, no Youtube. Just basic usage. We went over at about day four. We weren't home much so we used facebook, email and the occasional browsing. I would say no more than the average person uses. (Just my husband and I.) So do be aware fo that. She did send us a notice that we had exceeded our allotment…unfortunately, we still had several days left. I sure enjoy my internet so that was really disappointing. Also, there is no air con. I’m not sure if what they use is common to AU or just to this area. But it’s more of what us Americans would call a swamp cooler. It cools to about 10 degrees cooler than the outside air. So on super hot days, we were covered in sweat. It was perfect during the night as it got very cool outside. We’d turn it off first thing and the temperature stayed nice for several hours. But you will be hot if you come during the hot season and/or you are used to air con like in the US or Singapore. You will not find that. There were no tissues/toilet paper, napkins/paper towels or trash bags. I dont know if that was just an oversight or if it is expected that we would supply our own. You should be aware that there is no dishwasher. We just bought disposables. Hey, we were on vacation and washing dishes wasn't part of the plan.

The beaches are near, but they are NOT walking distance. You will have to drive to find them. I encourage you to get a GPS for your car if you are not used to the area. Even with a GPS we had a slight trouble finding a beach. (Be aware that there are nude beaches in the area.) Once you find a beach you like, you will not want to leave.

I HIGHLY encourage you to check out Adventure World. Go early and stake out a spot. Bring some water and a picnic lunch if you can. We had a BLAST.
Also be aware that this sun is INTENSE. We came from singapore where it is hot and humid, but we never get burned, with just basic sunscreen usage and sun safety. The first day out in the sun I was burned within an hour. The second day, we all started falling. We went and bought some AU rated sunscreen for our day at Adventure World and reapplied every single hour (2 different sunscreens) and stayed in the shade whenever possible. And except for a few kids whose hairline parts didn't get applied to, no one got burned. This is a place I can see us visiting again. And Trish is really nice. This is a place I can see us visiting again. And Trish is really nice!
