Shenton Park is a lovely old suburb just west of the city centre, known for its large trees and many parks.
It is a very safe, family oriented area full of character homes.
One such park is Lake Jualbup which used to be called 'Shenton Park', it is a lovely lake and wetlands with native birdlife and a great kids playground, free barbeques and tables make it popular with local families.
5 min in the other direction is Kings Park which has many walking paths through lovely bush and gardens. There are multiple kids playgrounds, two of the best May Drive Parkland and Saw Avenue Picnic Area are both a few minutes walk into Kings Park. There is also a hop-on/hop-off bus around the park, a great way to get an idea of its size and splendour.
150m from the house is Shenton Village which is a shopping centre with a 24hr supermarket, pharmacy, liquor store, post office, bakeries and more. A few minutes more are several cafes and restaurants including one of the best Italian restaurants in Perth, Galileo Buono Cucina, booking essential.
The house is well serviced by public transport. 1km away is Shenton Park railway station which is on the Fremantle/Perth City line. With this you can easily travel to the shopping precincts of Claremont, Subiaco or the city. The clothing outlet stores are all at Watertown which is next to the City West station. The train gets pretty close to Cottesloe Beach with a 10 min walk and to the centre of Fremantle.
There are bus stops within 100m of the house, on Derby Road, using the 24,25 and 97 routes.
Now to the house rules...
This is a very quiet residential area, which is part of its charm. Our neighbours are close by given the nature of town-houses, their peaceful living is paramount. There is to be no courtyard entertaining after 10pm and no noise to be coming from the house after this time.
The house is non-smoking though it is permitted in the courtyard as long as no evidence is left behind.
No pets or visiting animals.
No food or drinks, excepting water, upstairs, where it is carpeted. Spills are expensive and time consuming to remedy.
Airconditioners must be turned off when not in the room and when leaving the house.
If it is very warm weather and depending on the length of your stay, I may ask your assistance in watering the pot plants with the hose supplied in the courtyard or if you prefer I can come and attend it. This ensures that our garden remains lush and full of flowers for all to enjoy.
Check-out is 10am unless there are no other guests entering on that day, if that is the case I will offer a late check-out, I try to be flexible as it allows with check-in also.
On check-out, the house must be left as it was found with all dishes cleaned, dried and put away. Any appliances used must be cleaned. Rubbish and recycling must be removed and placed in the bins at the front of the building. Please do not strip the beds.
A nominal cleaning fee is charged assuming the house is left in a tidy state. If it is not and the cleaning takes much longer than normal then an extra fee will be claimed from the security bond.
We hope you enjoy your stay in our house, we've tried to set it up with everything that we feel makes for a perfect holiday. I am always available via sms to answer any questions or issues you may have.
