Welcome to our home — a cozy, light and art filled cottage in a heritage area, on a friendly street. King William Street is in the heart of Fremantle where locals live, work, shop and play, so there's an abundance of things to do in walking distance — including the beach, parks, fresh produce, bakeries, the best butcher, cafes, salons, boutiques, bars and trains.
Price includes consumables, utilities, high speed wireless internet, photocopier, fax machine, scanner, washing machine, clothesline and iron with reasonable use. Outside smoking only.
All linen and towels are provided. Provisions provided include tea, coffee, sugar, flour and olive oil, salt, pepper, herbs, spices, soap, eco-friendly laundry detergent and cleaning equipment.
There's a shady, sheltered veranda with table for eight, a chiminea (a freestanding Mexican clay fire burner for cool nights) and a hammock in the front; a large deck and leafy garden in the back (again with fireplace), a well stocked kitchen/dining area for those who love to cook, a bathroom and an outdoor laundry area.
The house is cleaned with bio-degradable, non-toxic cleaning products and is a friendly and relaxing place to stay.
Our guest bedrooms, have high ceilings and overlook the front verhanda. One bedroom has: a comfortable queen sized bed; chair, lamp, fan, wi-fi; some shelves and clothes hanging space. The other bedroom has a european style king sized bed with closets.The beds are spotlessly clean with high quality 100% crisp cotton bed linens, goose down pillows, down doonas (comforter or quilt), and individually controlled electric blanket for cool nights. One of the bedrooms has a writing table,
The bathroom, is small but serviceable with shower, toilet, sink and guest storage for toiletries.
Access to services and activities in the neighborhood:
Fremantle is a vibrant working port center, a funky hub full of interesting places. It sits on the vast coast line with long sandy beaches with turquoise water. You can swim at the beach and there are beautiful coastal walking/cycling paths which include parks/reserves up and down the coast and inland along the river-the paths are (2 minutes from our door). Cycling is popular in Fremantle. You can take bikes on the train outside of rush hour. Fremantle Council has a ‘Free Wheeling Fremantle’ free bike hire operating from the E-Shed market.
The cottage is walking distance to the swimming beach and South Fremantle Yacht Club (5 minute walk), central Fremantle (15 minute walk or free CAT Bus service every 10 minutes), two bakeries, several cafes and art studios, a health food store, a pub, a grocery store, and specialty shops (5 minute walk). Train services to Perth City run regularly (25 minute ride).

FREMANTLE‚ known as 'Freo'‚ is Perth's port and maritime playground on the mouth of the Swan River located just a few minutes (by car) and 20 mins from Perth the capital . It has a lively street life‚ a thriving café culture (locally known as the cappuccino strip) and an alternative arts scene amidst the workings of a fully functional port. There is a thriving university life with Notre Dame University occupying many of the heritage buildings in central Fremantle.
If you are lucky YOU CAN SEE DOLPHINS when walking along the beach. Parrots and pelicans are a regular feature of the beach scape along with yachts and boats. There are Tennis Courts in Fremantle proper.
TRANSPORT From Airport. There a bus from the airport route 37 which requires 1 bus transfer. Ask me how? There is also a shuttle services that operates to and from Fremantle that will DROP AND PICK UP AT THE DOOR (approx. $30-$40 per couple) which needs to be booked in advance (Fremantle Shuttle Service or Connect Shuttle Service online). A Taxi from the airport is approximately $50
