Farm Activities

Lilly Pilly Cottage extends a warm welcome to children having activities which delight them, like the feeding of the friendly farm animals. The farm environment allows an opportunity for children to bond with the farm pets and interact with nature. Farm-stays suit all ages and people.

You can assist farmer Ray to feed the ponies Blue and Baci and our miniature Shetland Amy. Amy loves to be brushed and is a lovable, very huggable, 'My Little Pony' look alike. Hand-feed Lilly our friendly alpaca. Also, hand-feed the chooks and collect the fresh organic, farm eggs for your next breakfast. The sheep with their lambs in season come up for a visit, and you can help farmer Ray hand-feed them too. Meet Betsy, our pet Jersey cow. You can see the goat, Snowy, in the paddock right near your cottage, feed Snow your leftover apple-core, but she loves bread better.

In February or March is when our Shiraz grapes are hand-picked and crushed for the new vintage. After the grapes are picked, we celebrate the harvest by enjoying a smorgasbord of food and a taste of last year's vintage.Ask Ray for a taste of the latest vintage and a tour of the winery.

All this, on a quiet 1100-acre property.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exceptional Hospitality Our little 15 month old had the time of his life at Lilly Pilly. Farmer Ray is a very lovely man, he was extremely hospitable, making all three of us feel right at home. Farmer Ray showed us around the farm (and hand feeding the animals) provided great recommendations for nearby sites and eateries as well as dropping off some of his homemade wine on our first night! Farmer Ray is very warm and endearing to children (even shy 15 month olds). He even set up the wood for a campfire and sticks for toasting marshmallows. The cottage itself is charming with old historical appeal and toys and books for children of various ages. There is a nice courtyard, with a lovely little garden and children's play area. The open fire place is particularly enjoyable at the end of the evening with a glass of Ray's lovely red wine. Would highly recommend and can't wait for a next stay at Lilly Pilly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful Family Getaway We had an absolutely lovely stay at Lilly Pilly Cottage. Farmer Ray was most hospitable and made our stay very enjoyable. The children had a great time helping to feed the animals and explore the farm and there were many other fantastic places to explore only a stones throw away. We would definitely recommend Lilly Pilly Cottage to families looking for a quiet and relaxing getaway not far from the hustle and bustle of the city.
