The area

The river is 400m away. At the river you will find a walking path that takes you south to the famous Colourpatch cafe - last cafe before the South Pole. North takes you into town past the riverfront houses and private jetties.

A short drive takes you to Flinders Bay and Granny's Pool where the kids can swim or play in the large playground.

The local hotel provides counter meals and there are a number of takeaway options in town. All of this can be enjoyed while overlooking the Blackwood River and Ocean views.

The bakery is a must but get there early as it gets really busy in the summer months.

The town centre is only a five minute walk back up the main street and includes a large IGA supermarket, post office, liquor stores, a great gift shop and large newsagent.

Within a short drive you have Caves Road which will take you to some of the best wineries in Australia; numerous limestone caves you can take guided tours through and specialty food and gallery experiences.
