The Augusta Beach House is a classic Western Australian “upside down” beach side design, comprises 2 self contained and separate areas, the upper level main Beach House and the lower level Apartment. While these 2 parts of the house have differently keyed separate entrances and can be completely locked off from one another, they are never rented out separately so you will always have the entire property to yourself. The expansive design is perfect for a shared family booking as it allows for privacy and quiet places to retreat, while still providing large, shared living areas.
Extremely well equipped with new furnishings and free wifi, the configuration of the Augusta Beach House is as follows:
Downstairs: A separate entrance to the private apartment, sleeping 2. With a large living area, kitchen, large bedroom with queen size bed and ensuite with shower. Please note that while no cooking is permitted in the Apartment’s kitchen, a toaster, kettle, toasted sandwich maker, plates, cups, mugs and cutlery are provided for the making of light breakfasts and snacks. Also plenty of space here to store canoes, bikes etc.
Upstairs: Reached by a separate entry or thorough the Apartment, an internal staircase leads to the upper level. The main Beach House sleeps a total of 8 in 3 bedrooms 1 king size bed, 1 queen size bed and 2 bunk beds ie sleeping 4. Reaching this upper level, you will be greeted with a wall of ocean views that will take your breath away. Comprising a spacious kitchen with everything you could need, an 8 seater dining table in a windowed corner and a large, comfy family area with huge modular couch and 140 cm internet TV, The Beach House’s living areas have plenty of room for everyone to enjoy socialising together, as well as quiet corners. Opening off the living area is the gorgeous front balcony that runs the width of the house with 180 degree ocean views. Containing a number of seating options, it also has one section fully glassed to provide protection from the sea breeze when it’s gusty.
Back inside there is a spacious master bedroom with views over the ocean. Leading off that is a semi ensuite with a spa bath, separate shower and heat lamp lighting. A separate toilet is next to the ensuite and next to that is the colourful “Bunk Room” containing 2 sets of sturdy wooden bunks. Pile the kids in there – it will be the best sleepover they ever have, plus its close enough to the master bedroom to keep an eye on them, but with the buffer of the bathroom and toilet in between. No ocean views from this room.
On the other side of the family room is the Queen Suite with its own bathroom incl shower and toilet. The Queen Suite has ocean views.
There is also a large, fully equipped laundry with full size washing machine and clothes dryer on the upper level.
At the rear of the house, a covered deck leads from the family room to the backyard which contains a full sized clothes line. The flat grassed space is great for a game of bocce or croquet sets provided and the deck has an outdoor setting – a great spot out of the sun to sit and give advice to whoever is in charge of the brand new Weber Q BBQ.
Right at the front door is another flat grassed area which is also great for games or for the kids to run around while being supervised from the balcony above.
Also directly over the road is an extremely large grassed verge area, perfect for cricket or a game of footy. A smooth footpath along the length of this area is also perfect for the kids to ride scooters or skateboards not provided.
June’s Beach is directly over the road from the Augusta Beach House and is a lovely, quite secluded swimming beach with great walks in both directions – head left towards town and reach the mouth of the Blackwood River. Turn right and head towards the Flinders Bay Caravan Park and further on the new Marina. Augusta town is less than a 5 minute drive away, the Lighthouse a 10 minute drive away and Margaret River only 30 minutes away depending on the traffic – summer is very busy.
All the usual kitchen cooking and serving equipment and accessories, including plates, cutlery, serving and baking dishes, glasses water, beer, wine and champagne flutes, microwave, large gas oven/stove top with wok burner, toaster, kettle, sandwich toaster, popcorn maker, smoothie maker, food processor, large fridge/freezer etc. Please note that by choice we do not have a dishwasher. We think that some of the best chats you can have with your kids are over a “do you want to wash or dry” encounter
A large gas room heater is provided in the family area, with electric column heaters available for all bedrooms.
Free standing fans are also available for all bedrooms please note there is no air-conditioning – all you need is the sea breeze.
140 cm flat screen TV, with DVD player.
