Description

The Apple in Bridgetown is a relaxing get away - a gorgeous heritage farm house to call your own for a night, weekend or week. 3 hours drive south of Perth, The Apple sleeps up to 12 people. Featuring 2 bathrooms, internet, modern amenities plus old fashioned fun including wood stoves and open fireplaces.

The Apple is a 1920s family home on 8 acres of land on the Blackwood River, Bridgetown WA. 3km from the townsite 5 minute drive to town.

It was once the farm house of a large apple orchard. It has a huge lounge room with 2 fireplaces which in the 1940's hosted monthly dances.

Bridgetown is a gorgeous treasure in the south west. It's a small town located in a picturesque valley. The town centre is lively, with quality cafes, restaurants, wineries and boutiques. It has a long running annual Blue Festival in November, plus has many other art and culture events throughout the year.

It's easy to get caught up cooking, relaxing and never leaving the property, but it's close to heaps if you want to explore more.

This is a country heritage home, not a commercial hotel. If you require your accommodation to be 100 flawless this probably isn't the place for you - however if you cherish character, open space, wood fires and gardens we think you'll love our house.

The Lounge : The large lounge room features two fire places. There is a TV, DVD player, lounges, desk, board games and children's toys.

The Kitchen/Dinning: The large open kitchen has a dishwasher, fan forced oven, gas cook top and wood stove. Smaller appliances include kettle, double toaster, rice cooker, water filter/cooler, food processor, blender and sandwich maker. It is a well equipped kitchen ready for cooking up a feast.

Bedroom 1: Queen bed, 2 Single Beds Bunk, door to shared bathroom. Please note this room is only accessible from the verandah.

Bedroom 2: Queen Bed, 2 Single Trundle, private verandah.

Bedroom 3: Double room with Queen Bed, open fireplace, 2 Singles Trundle, ensuite with bath/shower and toilet, access to front verandah.

Verandah 1: Off the Lounge Room and Bedroom 2, this verandah overlooks the croquet lawn. Great pace for badminton, croquet, cricket, bocce and more.

Verandah 2 Outdoor Dining: Off the Louge Room, Bedroom 1 and near the kitchen, this sheltered side of the house features outdoor dinning tables and barbeque.

The Property: The house and large private surrounding gardens are on an 8 acre property. Feel free to explore the rest which includes an orchard, and head down the hill to find the Blackwood River. There is a trampoline, swings and other outdoor games available to guests also.

Note: that there is a caretakers cottage on the property also, which may be occupied during your stay.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Relaxing historical property with beautiful garden We had an absolutely wonderful stay at The Apple recently. The gardens were so beautiful and our three children spent almost all their time outdoors playing together. They also loved sleeping in the 'bunk room' with bunk beds and their own bathroom. The house was cosy and comfortable and extremely well-stocked with everything we needed. The board games cabinet and log fire were a big hit. We will definitely visit again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect winter weekender This is our second winter visit to the Apple. It's the perfect spot for a family weekend of fun and games. Heaps to do inside and out. Cosy and extremely well appointed. Fantastic location close to town and the river. Lovely gardens, and looks like there'll be another ensuite very soon. Two thumbs up and thanks from us all (ten adults).

The fire was cosy and the high ceilings and old world character of the home created a very relaxing atmosphere. The bathrooms were a bit quaint and the shower over the bath was a little difficult to manage but everything else was comfortable and well maintained.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wonderful property! The Apple is a wonderful heritage property with great furnishings and a really homely feel. We stayed with 4 adults and 3 children (all under 10) and had the most wonderful time. there is access to the river from the back of the property, lots of play equipment in the yard and in the house - and the kitchen /dining area feels kind of French farmhouse style. We loved our stay and will be staying again!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic family property Three families plus two dogs spent a wonderful, relaxing new year's weekend at this beautiful property. Plenty of space for all and so much to explore that we rarely felt the need to leave. Only criticism - both bathrooms were only accessible through the bedrooms or by an outside door.
