Olive Cottage is on a small farm and was the original home, having its own private garden and surrounding paddocks. It is perfect for groups of up to 6 or 7 people and is situated so you can explore the surrounding South West region. Guests have sole use of the cottage.
Located on 60 acres and separate to the main house Olive Cottage has its own driveway access. The garden is perfect for spying kangaroos, or the wonderful birds or listening to the soothing running creek or simply to just sip a drink under the trees. It is a wonderful house for families or small gatherings. The garden is lush and peaceful. Winter, spring and autumn are stunning in this part of the country and it is a time we highly recommend you come and visit.
In winter there is a log fire in the middle of the lounge, which gets the cottage toasty. Wood is available for your stay. Board games and books are provided to ensure you relax.
In summer there is an airconditioner in the lounge, and large trees to shade you outside.
For those who wish to explore there is a nature reserve on the other side of the road for bush walks, and a garden and surrounding paddocks with an olive grove and many other fruit trees.
Olive cottage is simple and original being decorated to show off the country feel and make you feel peaceful and relaxed as soon as you put your bags down. The house is furnished with a collection of family furniture as well as second hand shop finds. It is clean with modern appliances, fresh linen A TV and DVD player, and full operational kitchen including tea and coffee; you just need to bring your food.

Your back yard is enclosed so convenient for a small dog, which we will accept with a $10 per night additional pet fee payable direct. Please feel free to walk through the garden. There are horses on the property, so they may be nearby, it is not recommended you enter a paddock with them in, and be aware of electric fences.
The feeling of privacy and peace is what makes a stay at Olive Cottage so special.
Note there is no WiFi at the cottage. Mobile coverage is patchy, but available.
We will sometimes be here to greet you and sometimes we won't be able. Interaction can be as much or as little as we all feel like. We are at the back of the property and are keen and happy to assist you where we can so you can have the nicest time while you are with us. We can give you information about what to see and where to eat in the area.
Olive Cottage is just over two hours from Perth, we are an easy drive from the city and a great base to explore the south west from; be it for business, family, a nature trip or just relaxing, you will feel renewed after your stay.
We are conveniently placed for short day trips to surrounding area’s such as the Ferguson Valley and its array of boutique wineries, breweries, art galleries and Gnomesville, Boyanup and its quirky shops, Donnybrook orchards, historic Bridgetown, tranquil Honeymoon Pool and a slightly further afield Dunsborough, Yallingup & Margaret River.
We are located in the country and Bunbury is an easy 20 minute drive with all of the attractions, cafes, supermarkets, movies, restaurants and shopping that a city has to offer. Capel and the coast is about 20 minutes, and it is 12-15 minutes to Donnybrook IGA.
There is no public transport around so a car is required for to stay with us and to see the beautiful South West region. The road into the cottage from Boyanup is not sealed however it is the most direct, the road from the Ferguson Valley is sealed until the last 100 metres. Small and large cars are able to access the property with ease.
Once here you will be able to walk or cycle in the bush or visit the Crooked Brook Forest.
We have free range dogs that wander around the property and can come to your door. Beware they might make themselves at home, however are all gentle and sweet. Please don’t let them in the house or feed them.
Please clean up after your dog, so others will not be inconvenienced.
