1 The House

The house is special. It's 89 years young, english in design and very pretty. It sits high on a hill between the city of Bunbury and the Indian Ocean.

I've just finished a total re-furbishment. It's now fresh, light, bright and airy, furnished with quirky "treasures" and fitted out with all mod cons. The mornings here are gorgeous, filled with bird song. The evenings feature magnificant sunsets over the Indian Ocean.

It was a grand home in its day, built by one of Bunbury's leading citizens, Mr Boulter.

2 It's Location

Bunbury's lookout is named "Boulters Heights" in recognition of Mr Boulter's contribution to the development of Bunbury. The "Boulters Heights" lookout is 200m away, visible from the front door

Three separate sets of stairs lead downhill from the house to Bunbury's main street, Victoria St. Victoria St is full of fab restaurants, coffee shops, wine bars and hotels.

Walk out my back garden gate, head down the hill in the opposite direction to the city and you arrive at a popular Bunbury swimming beach in under 2 minutes.

You really are at the center of everything here on Boulter's hill.

If you feel like exploring beyond Bunbury drive or ride bikes to the Ferguson Valley and visit some of its beautiful wineries and restaurants. Canoe or kayak on the Harvey, Collie or Eaton rivers. Go crabbing at Australind. Enjoy the wonderful bird life here. Watch out for the noisy red and black tailed cockatoos in Prinsep St, 200m from the front door. Go to the Dolphin Recreation Park. Visit the local wildlife park or just sit on the back deck and watch yachts sail by, ships head in or out of the harbor and the occasional whale swim by.

Bunbury's art gallery in Prinsep St is only 400m from my front door and definitely worth a visit.

3 Sleeping Arrangements

The home has 3 large, bright bedrooms. Two with king beds, one with a queen bed.

There is also a king single trundle bed in the sunroom.

The two king sized bedrooms look out across the front verandah and front garden, to "Boulters Heights", the city, harbour and port. The queen sized bedroom is special. It opens directly on to the back deck and has sweeping ocean views.

All three bedrooms have new ceiling fans and blinds, lamps, reading lights, charming furniture, rugs, art and quality linen.

4 Lounging Around

The lounge room is large. It's also bright and airy, with comfy sofas, bright cushions and lovely art and rugs. It can comfortably seat 10-12 people. It has a brand new large screen TV [with NETFLIX] , a music system, a growing library, two ceiling fans, a reverse cycle air conditioning unit, two gas heaters and a fireplace. You need never be hot cold

The entrance hall is wide and welcoming.

The study is quirky. It has sweeping ocean views and opens on to the back deck.

The sun room pops with color and sunshine. It opens directly onto the front verandah. It has a ceiling fan, two large, comfy sofas, bright cushions and its own large screen TV - plus the king single trundle.

5 Dining In

The kitchen and dining areas are fun areas, packed with all mod cons and charming, colorful art, rugs, crockery, baskets and decor. The dining room has sweeping ocean views. It opens directly on to the back deck. It also has a new TV - for people who like to catch up with news while they breakfast.

6 Porches, Decks and Verandahs

The front porch is furnished with a small table and stools. In winter it catches the sun and is sheltered from the wind. It's a great spot to sit and watch the world go by.

The front verandah has a comfy sofa and chairs. It's is a shady refuge in summer.

The back deck has teak sun lounges and a table setting for outdoor meals of 6+. It overlooks the garden and the Indian Ocean.

Pair the outdoor table with the indoor table for long luxurious lunches of 12 on the back deck.

7 The Garden and Hunter, the 1952 Carapark Caravan

The garden is large. It's planted with roses, camelias, frangipanis, hibiscus, oleander, flowering pear trees, natives and the occasional sculpture

Birds abound.

Parked in the lower garden is Hunter - a very special 1952 Carapark caravan. He's ideal for kids if they are brave enough to sleep outside. Hunter can comfortably sleep 2-4 kids. The garage [right next to Hunter] has a brand new third bathroom in it -so the kids can even wash outside if they want total independence

There's stacks of space here for parking cars. There's room for caravans, trailers and boats too should you be travelling with them.

Come and visit.

You are most welcome
