ABOUT THE COTTAGE
This very cute timber cottage is an original mill cottage from the 1950's situated in the Dwellingup Heritage Precinct. It has been renovated, with a modern kitchen, in addition to the original wood stove/oven, and a modern bathroom/laundry.
KITCHEN: There is a 6 seater dining table and chairs in the kitchen area. The kitchen is well equipped including dishwasher, microwave, electric kettle, toaster, Nepresso coffeee pod machine and essential cooking utensils. We provide some pods to get you started. Bring your favourite Nespresso compatible coffee pods to use if you wish. The pantry contains bare essentials including tea, coffee, sugar, jam, vegemite and peanut butter, salt and pepper and oil. Please use with discretion and supply cannot be guaranteed if items are used before being able to replenish.
BATHROOM / LAUNDRY: The large modern bathroom also houses the washing machine & dryer. Washing powder is provided. There is a 2nd toilet separate to the main bathroom.
LOUNGE: A very efficient wood heater in the lounge area makes winter very cozy in addition to reverse cycle air conditioning for either cooling or heating. Seating comprises a 3 - 4 seater lounge and 2 single lounge chairs. Extra chairs from the kitchen or bedroom can be used if required. A TV and DVD player are available with a range of DVD's. There are some games available for use also.
BEDROOMS: Two bedrooms have queen size beds and the 3rd bedroom has 2 single beds. This bedroom has its own airconditioning unit. The others have ducted airconditioning and ceiling fans and all windows are screened to allow opening without risk of flies or mosquitoes. Each room has a tall boy chest of drawers for storage as required.
BED LINEN, TOWELS and TEATOWELS are provided at no extra charge
FRONT VERANDAH: From the north facing front verandah, you can sit and look across to an area of virgin bush and watch and listen to the many birds including splendid blue wrens, robins, honeyeaters, kookaburras which visit the garden and surrounding area. It is the perfect spot to unwind and relax. Our birdbath in the front garden attracts many birds who love to drink and bathe in the morning and later afternoon.
For dog owners, a dog water bowl is kept on the front verandah, if required.
The property is fully enclosed, suitable to keep in young children and pets. The back yard is fairly large, ideal for young children to run around in. The wooden shed in the backyard is available for storing bikes if required and is kept locked. A key for the padlock is on the key ring which you will have access to.
The cottage is 200 metres from the State forest where there are many walking trails and access to mountain bike riding tracks. It is 5 mins walk to the centre of town.
Our cottage is only 10 minutes drive from Nanga Bush Camp at Lane Poole Reserve, which is popular for weddings.
PRIOR APPROVAL MUST BE OBTAINED BEFORE BRINGING YOUR PET
No more than 2 dogs will be permitted and they MUST be fully house trained and well behaved.
Dogs are not permitted on beds or furniture and please clean off well before they go inside.
Please ensure that your dogs are kept on lead when outside the property and do not allow your dog to leave the property unattended

No extra guests to stay unless authorized.
Please treat this home as you would your own home, with respect.
Please wash dirty dishes and put away before departure
Please ensure all doors and windows are locked, all lights, airconditioning and fans are turned off and the keys are put back in the keysafe before you leave.
Check you have all your belongings before you leave including phone chargers, toiletries etc.
ABOUT THE TOWN
Dwellingup is a thriving timber mill town with a great community spirit, located approximately 75 mins from Perth city ~100km south east of Perth and attracts many visitors interested in mountain bike riding, hiking and canoeing. The Bibbulmun and Munda Biddi trails pass through Dwellingup. Lane Poole Reserve and the Murray River are only 8km away 10 minute drive from cottage and is a popular swimming, paddling and canoeing area.
Trees Adventure is also located in Lane Poole Reserve for those interested in ziplining. There are also many designated 4x4 tracks nearby for the 4WD enthusiast.
Dwellingup has 2 cafes, a local pub which is open every evening for meals and do takeaway pizzas, several art and craft centres, silversmith and a gift shop. A small IGA has a reasonable range of essential items and bake really good bread rolls daily. Bike and canoe/kayak hire is available in town from Dwellingup Adventures. Forest Discovery Centre is definitely worth a visit, with top quality products available for sale from Western Australian artisans. One local artist makes amazing wooden rocking horses, and he now resides at the centre.
There is a very interesting educational display and several short walking trails from the centre. Many varieties of wildflowers can be seen near the trails during the wildflower season.
The Hotham Valley Steam Train runs from Dwellingup.
The Wine Tree Cidery is located 1 km from town, and is defintely worth a visit for tastings of their cider, ginger beer and lemonade in season, &/or lunch open on weekends only.
Dwellingup has many regular events held during the year. The Wodchopping Fair is held annually in February and the extremely popular Pumpkin Festival is held during the Easter weekend. The Dwellingup 100 mountain bike race during August, attracts competitors from far and wide.
