About this property

Our family owned chalet is in a quiet area of Penstowe park, surrounded by trees, shrubs and a spacious grass area right outside - great for kids.

The chalet has two bedrooms, (a double and a twin room) and there is a double sofa bed which can accommodate 2 people making a total of 6, however we recommend 5 is the maximum. A travel cot is also available. Bedding is provided for beds but not the cot.

There is a cooker, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, toaster, electric kettle, iron and board, vacuum cleaner, electric heaters in bedrooms and living room, TV and radio. Please note the chalet has an electricity meter which takes £1 coins.

The patio has a table and 4 chairs.
There is a plentiful supple of crockery, cutlery, glasses and cooking utensils.

On site facilities in Penstowe Manor are available to our guests and include indoor and outdoor pools, bar, restaurant and entertainment.

The village of Kilkhampton is a 10 minute walk from the chalet and has some great pubs and shops including a Co-op, Pizza, Tea Rooms, and a fish and chip shop.

Sandymouth Beach is 2 miles and the car park free to National Trust members. Other sandy beaches, suitable for surfing are at Bude and Widemouth, within easy reach.

Our local caretaker is usually available in an emergency.

Stormy but very pleasant

The weather was mixed with a few fine days and a big storm, but the week was wonderful. A very pleasant trip.

End of season getaway

A relaxing stay. The accommodation was spotless with plenty of living space for the two of us. As one would expect at the end of October, evenings were chilly but the electric heating ( coin meter) was up to the task. Did not use the swimming pool or leisure activities.

As a child my husband visited this area and we visited it with a caravan until settling for a permanent property here.

We are retired teachers who have constantly updated and renewed the chalet and loved being able to visit regularly. We have owned the chalet for over 40 years and as well as our family and friends staying, we're always delighted to have guests come and fall in love with the area.

Why they chose this property

The location with a view towards Coombe Valley and the coast gives us beautiful sunsets.

The open space in front of the chalet has been a play area for children and grandchildren over the years.
