Designer Style Penthouse in Riga City Center

I love my apartment in Riga and lived there for 4 years but in 2009 I moved to London to live with my partner and although I make a point of returning to my home town regularly, I have decided to rent out may apartment and let others enjoy my home in order to also enjoy my wonderful city of Riga and country of Latvia.

The apartment is very spacious and light and although it is a bit of a climb up the 50 stairs to the top story, it is definitely worth it as the penthouse style, with beams and strange angles gives it so much character and light. The main bedroom is big with a queen size double bed and en suite bathroom, the second room is only slightly smaller and has just as much character.

The Riga Penthouse is the perfect place from which to base yourself when visiting Riga Latvia. It has a lovely atmosphere and is perfectly located to enjoy the city, restaurants, local theatres, shops, salons and popular meeting places. The location of the apartment could be described as the Chelsea of Riga. From the apartment it is only 30 minutes drive to the wonderful Latvian coastline with its amazing unspoilt sandy beaches and dune forests. It is just a short stroll through the park to the famous Riga Opera and only 10 minutes walk to the historic Old Town.

The apartment is surrounded by great restaurants, local food markets and parks and its only a 5 minute walk to the old city and the famous Riga Opera. By car it is only 30 minutes to famous seaside resort of Jurmela and the wonderful Latvian coast and beaches. Siguda, the most amazing Latvian national park is about 60 min drive from my front door.

Useful Information

The nearest well stocked supermarket is only 2 min walk away along my street Krisjana Barona and the main food market selling all the local produce is about 2 miles away by bus/taxi but on a every 2nd Saturday of the month the local Farmers market is held just less than 5 minutes walk away in Berga Bazara Courtyard.

Recommended local restaurants are Osiris Bistro that offers excellent food all day to late evening and also Gallary Istaba which is a combined art gallery with top quality home made cuisine served by a local celebrity chef ( approx cost £15 for 2 courses plus drinks) The best restaurant in town is Vincents run by Chef de Patron Martins Ritins it is about 20 minutes walk from my apartment 5 min by taxi where you can enjoy world class food and service for £60 per person. Banks and currency exchange are located all over the city but there is a currency exchange office 25 meters from my door.

The new state of art Galleria Riga shopping centre on Blaumana Street with the biggest roof top restaurant in Europe is less than 5 minutes walk away. The best views of the city can be seen from the top of the hotel Reval Latvia from its Penthouse bar which has a 360 degree view of the city. The old town has many historic buildings displaying the rich history of Riga from the mid 15c to modern day.

The architecture is strong evidence the Riga was one of the main cities in the Hanseatic league and consequently was popular with the rich and famous of the European and Russian aristocrats and merchant class. There are also many Gym and Yoga facilities within 5 minutes walk of the apartment.
