A haven for walkers and cyclists, yet minutes away from the ancient town of Richmond which has been voted the number one market town by The Times in 2022 and stands to the north of the River Swale. With its famous castle dominating the skyline, cobbled streets, narrow alleys and eclectic array of shops, galleries, tea rooms and architecture, there is plenty to see and do. The town grew up around its castle, and today there are wonderful walks to be enjoyed by the castle or along the River Swale to Easby Abbey, not forgetting the Wainwright Coast to Coast walk and the National Cycling Route.

Just a short drive from Hudswell takes you into the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Head up towards Reeth and across into Hawes in Wensleydale for a true taste of this magnificent countryside. Hudswell itself is a small village sitting on top of the valley above the River Swale, located just a short 2-mile stroll from its historic neighbouring market town of Richmond. Set in delightful rolling countryside, the village boasts a mixture of lovely old houses and a pub renowned for its excellent local ales and traditional food. Great cottage.
Wonderful weekend spent in a lovely property. Excellent facilities, particularly enjoyed the hot tub. Pub in village worth a visit. Communication with owner was second to none, particularly as we had heavy snow to contend with. Overall, would highly recommend.

We had a lovely weekend at Hudswell. The cottage was very comfortable and clean. The hot tub and sauna were a fab addition. The local pub serves amazing pies and real ales. Great river walk to Richmond too.
