About this property

Detached 3 Bed House, Ideal for Long Stays & Pets

A detached 3 bed house, with 5 single beds has been proving very popular, since the pandemic as all cleaning and linen changes are carried out by a Covid compliant outside contractor.

This is one of those properties that is a lovely surprise to most guests, as it offers a great feeling of cosiness, just like a house should feel.

This is a BUDGET TYPE ACCOMMODATION, it is NEVER going to be a 'Romantic' getaway to prove your love for a partner, that'll cost an extra £800 + in Chester.

But just like many houses of that era, it’s required & had a few updates as time has passed, but you can't paint away its history.

When your head hits the pillow, you’ll be soon relaxing or snoring your head off and dreaming of your next adventure.

The house was always popular with bargain holiday guests, but nowadays is being booked by varied groups, such as self employed, singles, couples, walkers, amateur golfers, theatre crew, parents of children, (some with special needs), company delegates, Mold court legal teams, travelling NHS & paper mill staff, business people and also some very nice dogs and their owners.

We don’t currently market to holiday guests, it’s not really our market, but they can’t seem to resist our prices, especially in peak season, so whatever your reason for choosing us, you’ll be welcome, but its not going to please everybody, so make sure you read the refund policy carefully.

Basically it’s a 3 bedroomed, detached, very nice, traditional Welsh house that offers a lot more homely cosiness than a modern sterile hotel usually does, but its about 100 years old, so it's not unusual to find a 'Crumbly Grumbly', who expects something that can't be given by a property of this age, ie: it can't shine from every corner, but it has fantastic character and guests love it.

A great feature is that we don’t mind having pets stay.

So its not the Ritz at Lidl prices, it’s a hard wearing house, built to last, lived in and so isn't a show home with undersized furniture, but that's why guests say they love it.

But the biggest bonus is its location between many hotels between Mold & Chester.

Your getting the equivalent of two twin rooms and a single bedroom, plus a living room and separate dining area. (Sleeps 5 )

Savings are between *16-50%, depending upon peak season and current capacity.

Obviously there are some additional costs to consider. Eg: we don’t supply your food for your stay and just like when you hire a car, you nearly always pay for the fuel that you use, so the same applies at Hyfrydle House.

But don’t worry, with the savings, any additional cost is easily offset, by the savings you’ve already made compared to paying just for a Hotel stay.

With the prices of some hotels charge, you could eat out at an expensive restaurant with the savings you will have made. Isn’t that brilliant?

Hyfrydle’s competitors, (hotels), try to suggest that they are not charging for certain things, ( yeah sure they don’t!)

To prove the point, ask to watch a Sky or Netflix movie and see what happens to your starting price.

Our internet is lovely, quick and broadcasted to every room.

We won’t start your stay with an inconvenience because there is always a starting amount of energy paid for you on arrival, so the house is always fully operational when you get there.

Obviously there is no need to go to the shops, to top up it can be done simply via the internet.

Enter the postcode: CH7 1LB
And the gas or electricity card number, which are located on the notice board in the hallway.

Speaking of shops.... just down the road from the house is an Aldi, Lidl, B&M, Boots, Tesco and a twice a week outdoor market!

It’s so easy to go shopping from Hyfrydle House, you don’t need to use a car to get to major retail chains you can just walk down King Street and get yourself a Subway sandwich or a McDonalds.

The House:
Built early last century, it’s survived a few World wars, the swingiest of the sixties, glam rock, new wave, punk rocking and an occasional rogue sheep from a nearby field.

It’s often been a loving family home and has been fully refurbished more than once.

Each time with more modern amenities, but not to such an extent it’s been stripped of its character.

We have recently added insulation to the interior walls throughout the whole house to keep the heat in, it has modern double glazing, underfloor insulation and a new boiler for fast unlimited hot water.

Decorated throughout with a few modern and a lot of traditional touches. On the ground floor is a TV Lounge (Seating 6), separate Dining room Seating 6 with French doors that lead out onto the rear gravelled and decked area, Toilet & Sink, Fully equipped Kitchen with Cooker & Hob, Kettle, Microwave, Toaster, Washing machine & Dryer, Fridge & Freezer.
Upstairs there are 3 bedrooms.

Bed Capacity:
A Single Room, Twin room and a further Twin room.
There is also a family bathroom with bath & shower.
The House is tucked away off the main street with just a short 10 min walk to town or civic centre.

The beds are supplied with one fresh linen change before your arrival.

You can add additional cleaning and laundry changes for longer stays, *( subject to additional charges)

This spacious and comfortable detached house is ideally located for access to key facilities, couples and business travellers. Lidl, Aldi & Tesco are all on the doorstep.

Hyfrydle house is set up for people that need to relax in a warm, cosy house, without being exposed to neighbours such as would be the case in a terraced or semi-detached property.

The following entertainment is available via the internet via the living room TV.*
Amazon Video, Netflix, Sky News, BBC News, in addition normal terrestrial TV is available also.

If you currently subscribe to any streaming services, you can also utilise your own login or continue to use the in-house subscription.

All rooms come with unlimited Wi-fi access and the Wi-fi signal is encrypted throughout the house.

Charging points are situated throughout the property and supply an industry standard 5 volts USB charge suitable for Apple and Android devices, which avoids using up all the mains sockets with chargers.

The devices can rest on dedicated charging shelves so they won’t be left on the floors.

There is a washing machine, fridge, freezer, iron, ironing board, electric kettle in each room and gas powered central heating and hot water available.

Outside, in the back garden, is a table and bench for sitting and having a nice read of the papers.

The host is available by phone, SMS, email, FaceTime and video doorbell.

Most people are happy to gain access on their own, but if you need any help they can guide you through most things via video doorbell, FaceTime etc.

If you can’t do something or need further help, they can usually pop round, (within 90 minutes), but that also raises COVID-19 issues, so remotely is usually best.

You should really be putting your feet up and chilling out though, shouldn’t you?

The best form of transport is probably by car. There is space at the side of the house for parking a single car, but the main parking area is in an area at the back of the houses to the rear of this one.

There appears to be good security as they have never had an issue with any vehicle parked in that area as it is overlooked all the time by neighbours.

Mold is an old market town, with a mixture of old and newer businesses.
The main road, (King Street), on which the house faces can link to Queensferry, Chester, Wrexham, Birkenhead, Ruthin, Anglesey and Flint.

You can access all spaces except the caretakers cupboards, which are locked.

There is a washing machine, fridge, freezer, iron, ironing board, electric kettle in each room and gas powered central heating and unlimited hot water available.

Outside, in the back garden, is a table and bench for sitting and planning.

All in all, if you want a very cosy, clean house to enjoy, it’s fantastic.

A dog friendly house
My criticism was having to pay for gas and electricity. I thought that they were included in the price

Weekend Away
The property has plenty of space. About 20 minutes from Chester zoo, which was the point of our stay. Although a short stay we enjoyed Mold. Would have liked a bigger frying pan for cooking 5 breakfasts🤭 Renting the property was straight forward no problems.
