The Lobster Pot was named as it started life in the 1940’s as a Lobster Pot store for the local fisherman’s cottage. It was converted into living accommodation in the 1970’s and has undergone a full refurbishment in 2019.
This contemporary 2 bedroom cottage enjoys beautiful, well equipped and modern accommodation that sleeps 4 people. It is in the conservation area of Port Isaac only a short walk from the harbour. The Lobster Pot has private parking for 1 large car(or 2 smaller ones) and a private south facing garden with a sea glimpse!
Port Isaac is a charming Cornish fishing village (named Portwen for TV’s Doc Martin) and is location of the recent film "Fishermen’s Friends" who you can see performing live in the harbour on Friday evenings in the summertime. The village is home to many lovely coffee shops and cafes plus pubs and restaurants. For a special occasion 2 Michelin star chef Nathan Outlaw has 2 restaurants nearby.
There is a fish market a short walk away on The Platt, which is opposite the lifeboat station and the beach and rock pools which can be explored at low tide. Nearby, Port Gaverne and Port Quinn are lovely places to visit on foot or by car. Further afield you will find Polzeath famed for its large sandy surfing beach, and the popular holiday location of Rock which has a passenger ferry to Padstow.
