About this property

Spacious dog-friendly village gite with beautiful views of 12th Century church

Vue de l'Eglise provides comfortable and spacious family and dog friendly accommodation in the charming village of Brux in the tranquil Vienne department of Western France. Ideally situated on the corner of the square, within a stone's throw of the village shop, the gite enjoys a beautiful view of the 12th century Romanesque church of St. Martin. The property sleeps eight people comfortably in three bedrooms (one king, one double and a twin), plus twin beds on a large mezzanine. There are two shower rooms, modern kitchen facilities (including a fridge-freezer, dishwasher and electric range cooker), plus a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer.. The huge living room has three sofas, three armchairs, a cosy wood-burner and a TV with English and French channels. Free WiFi is also available

With its own fully enclosed garden with garden furniture, a barbecue, a wooden above-ground pool and loungers, it offers the perfect base for both relaxing and exploring the surrounding area.

Vue de l'Eglise is close to some of the department’s best known tourist attractions, including the Futuroscope theme park and La Vallée des Singes (Monkey Valley), while the beautiful villages of Verteuil sur Charente and Nanteuil en Vallee are just a short drive away. The Vienne department is also ideal to explore by bike or on foot, while the meandering rivers of the Charente, Vienne and Clain are perfect for a lazy paddle by canoe. Bikes can be hired and collected on site if required.

Host profile image
Our family has holidayed in France for the past 30 years and it has always been our dream to have our own property. In 2013, we decided to take the plunge and buy Gite Vue de l'Eglise. We bought the property because of its ease of access to the channel ports of Caen and Le Havre, both of which are within 5 hours' drive. The area also has one of the most pleasant climates in France, with an average of 2400 sunshine hours a year. We have spent the past five years renovating the gite, converting the adjoining barn into living accommodation and adding new bathrooms and a kitchen. My husband and I both work full-time in the UK, where we have 2 grown-up children, and love spending as much time as possible in France.
