A lovely modernly decorated studio apartment with fantastic sea, pool and town views. Perfect location for sunbathing and enjoying the stunning views this apartment has to offer. The open plan living space offers a double L shaped sofa bed, TV, wardrobe, breakfast bar and kitchenette. The bathroom is very modern with bath and shower facility. Ideally located within walking distance of the Old Town and the Marina with local supermarkets nearby and restaurants and bars. L'appartement est idéalement situé , effectivement 2 cafards nous ont rendus visite. Le plus compliqué à été l'arrivée, en effet l'adresse qui m'a été indiquée n'était pas la bonne, 3 taxis différents pour y arriver (5h après notre atterrissage... C'est long) . La communication avec le propriétaire est très compliqué car ne parle exclusivement que anglais .. sinon c'était bien.

Please steer clear of this dingy accomodation

On arrival we were asked to wait as the apartment was being cleaned (joke) . I was not happy with this ad we had a long trip and it was 4.00pm check in time . When I contacted Sarah she was very unprofessional and said the booking was cancelled and I would not be able to book another VRBO and hung up on me . I had a friend call her to try to rectify the issue which he did. It was then 6pm when we eventually were met by Ken . He showed us the room which we told him was disgusting . Once he left he called and asked to take us out for a meal which we accepted but paid our own meal although he did offer . We thought this might be some kind of gesture for the earlier issue. On the issue regarding the state of the apartment it had broken tiles lying in the filthy balcony . We would not put our clothes in the wardrobe as it was used a store cupboard . We had cockroaches in the shower kitchen and lounge. We never ate in the apartment . The cobwebs were everywhere. One bath towel each for a week. The front door needs slammed to close and this would be an inconvenience to other guests. We were not looking for a 5 star accommodation just a nice clean apartment. I do have photos of this and if I could I would share them .

Do not stay here. Cockroaches and terrible customer service

I booked this property because of the location, I came on a business trip to Albufeira with my mother so we could look for properties to buy in the area. The location and view is good but the apartment itself is not up to standard for rentals. We were met by Ken and received the keys , at that time he told us about the door that has a broken lock and another lock that is problematic. He showed me the wifi and then left. Normally at this time a host will inform you about any precautions or rules , in our case we weren’t advised about anything. Throughout our time there we noticed how there weren’t any basic toiletries like hand soap , only 1 towel per person, and the worst was cockroaches! I informed the host Sarah about all our issues and she tried to resolve it but really didn’t , she pretty much just gave excuses for the issues. For example I told her about the cockroaches and she said it had to have been because the neighbors left food out and that also because the apartment is old. Which is understandable but not acceptable. If you know this is an issue at least inform the guest that this can happen and give me instructions on how to prevent it. She said she was going to send someone to fumigate which I agreed to but I figured she would tell us when the person was going to come. Instead we later found out someone had come into our room without us even knowing they would be there, this is not acceptable. We had our valuables all over the room and I personally am not comfortable with anyone entering a hotel where I am staying without me 1)knowing 2) being there. Also, her idea of fixing the issue was just to leave a bottle of bug repellent which DID NOT WORK. The roach issue got so bad to the point that they were crawling up and down the shower curtain, it was disgusting. I would have left and booked elsewhere but I was assured it would be fixed and I had also already paid to stay here, I came on a budget and could not afford to find another rental at the time. The towels are also very old and need to be replaced. Because we had only one towel we had to wash it and leave it out to dry , later we came to bring in the towels and found them covered in ash from the upstairs neighbor. Later on Sarah sent Ken to bring more towels but they were so stiff and old that we just decided to buy towels. Later when we checked out we were treated terribly. We were run out of the room, screamed at by Ken and he even threatened to call the police. Part 2 next
