Dirty and Moldy
The corner convenience store where you pick up the key should be the first hint that the accommodations are not the best. The key was dirty and grungy as was the parking pass. The tiny stairway to the flat was industrial at best. Very tight and difficult to take up luggage to 3rd floor. The photos of the apartment on VRBO do not show the water stains on the ceiling or the moldy smell. Bedrooms are very cramped. It was hot with very little airflow. The windows only partially opened. The window in the main bedroom was right at rooftop level and reflected severe heat, so the window would need to remain closed and shuttered. We arrived early and the apartment was not cleaned, so that contributed to the smell and dirty feel. I'm sure it was better after the housekeeper cleaned, but it was not up to my standards, so we forfeited our full payment and immediately returned the key. It was not a place I was willing to live in for 10 days. I wouldn't even sit down!
