This is a very spacious two story unit with a large living/dining room and kitchen on the first floor, and a bathroom, and one medium and one large bedroom on the second floor. This property is situated perfectly in an absolutely prime part of Oakland. 5 minute walk to Lake Merritt, all the shops on Grand Ave. and Lakeshore Ave. (Trader Joe's, Safeway, CVS, great restaurants, bars, and coffee shops). Very safe neighborhood. Plenty of street parking, "Casual Carpool" available to SF, 2 blocks from bus, bus to BART train available.

Nice location, not quite perfect

The location is convenient and within walking distance of Grand Ave and Lakeshore and everything those have to offer. Regarding communication, we had a problem with our bathroom sink faucet and the host was very quick to respond. However, they didn't tell us there would be painters looking into our windows on Saturday morning, which would have been appreciated. The walls to one of the bedrooms is thin enough to pick up whatever happens in the adjacent apartment, and likely vice versa -- beware! As of today's date, the written description says 2BR but the "rooms and beds" info from VRBO says 3BR / sleeps: 9, with 1.5 baths. Just to be clear, there are only 2BR, and only one bathroom. In this configuration, it sleeps 4 in the 2BR and maybe 2 on a couch and futon in the living room.

Comfortable and Convenient

729 Rand was a great place for our family. As our party of 6 was all adults, it was nice to have plenty of space. We were all very comfortable and happy with our stay. There is a nice big living room where we could all spend time together. The location is great with lots nearby. The owner was very responsive to all our questions and needs!

Convenient and comfortable

The apartment had everything we needed and was very spacious. It’s a short walk to plenty of shopping and restaurants and a short Uber ride to the BART.
