A True Cape Cod Cottage For Those Seeking " The Way The Cape Used To Be".
About Colette Lankau
We grew up in Maine and always thought we would return there until we found what we describe as "our little slice of heaven". We have enjoyed over 15 years of summers with our family and now this is our home. We are happy to offer this cottage for others to enjoy.
Colette Lankau purchased this Cottage in 2000
Why Colette Lankau chose Seconsett Island
The minute we laid eyes on the property we knew it was the place where our family could gather, relax, and play together. Our guests describe it as magical.
What makes this Cottage unique
Seconsett Island is unknown to many. Tucked away less than 2 miles from Route 28, it offers easy access to beaches, shopping, golf, site seeing, fishing, boating, bike trails, museums, and so much more.

1950’s Cape Cod cottage
The way Cape Cod used to be. No modern conveniences except WiFi and network. All of the rustic charm, simplicity, and relaxation a vacation cottage is built for. It’s located in a small family compound, on a scenic estuary of Waquoit bay. Ideal location for kayaks. Less than 10 minute drive to a gorgeous sandy beach. The owners, who live on the compound, are very pleasant and accommodating. We will definitely return.
great rustic cottage on river, located Upper/Middle Cape, easy walk to Seconsett beach for clamming
Spent a week here with our twins (8 years old) in mid August in this tucked away island. It was great and what we expected--downhome, rustic, comfortable, historic seasonal cottage. The added bonus was getting to know the family who gave us Cape Cod hospitality as the cottage is located on a family compound; it somewhat reminded us of staying in a Pensione. ...........the original cottage was built in 1920's and other two in 1950's. Each bed was comfortable, kitchen and bathroom more than adequate and a good mid-sized living room with Wifi and Directv. The kids would almost daily jump into the river or play in hammock at the campfire; we did a pit fire too. We walked to Seconsett beach on Waquoit Bay and a local taught us clamming.....beautiful sunsets there. South Cape beach is a15 minute drive, 20 dollars to enter/leave/reenter all day with great sunsets. Great location and nice cottage.
Thank you for staying with us on Seconsett Island. So happy you enjoyed our little cottage and exploring the upper Cape. We enjoyed meeting you and your family and hope you might visit us again.
Idyllic cottage and setting!
We could not have been happier with this rental. The cottage and setting are perfect. The area is quiet and residential, and the owners and neighbors are as friendly as can be. We will definitely rent here again and highly recommend it to any one. The Wall Family.
Cape Cod offers the summer visitor a rich variety of summertime activities. Seconsett Island is close to all the Cape has to offer, but the Island itself is a quiet respite and a hidden gem!
