Why Todd Watson chose Butler
This beautiful mountain top property is literally that, on top of the mountain ridge at approximately 3300 foot elevation, in the Blue Ridge Mountains, over looking Watauga Lake.

This property has fabulous views and is Very private. The owner was very courteous and contacted us to make sure we had made it to the cabin
Ok. We had such a good stay. Thank
Such a relaxing spot. The drive up is pretty crazy but totally worth it for the solitude and the view.
Amazing Views, Relaxing, Fun For The Family
This was the second time we stayed at the American Dream Cabin. The views are beautiful, the property is clean, and there is much to do in the area. Todd was excellent with communication.
We had two families with 10 total people and 2 Honda Minivans. We had a little trouble this time getting up the road the first time up with a loaded van. After backing down and re-adjusting the load, we got up fine. The main road up after the gate is the toughest, as they have had a lot of rain so the road condition isn’t as good as it was last time (one small section). That being said, we left the property everyday and came back with no problems. We stayed for 5 nights.
The cabin is fully stocked with everything a family would need. The carpet-ball and foosball tables kept the kids busy. It was a little warm (mid July), but we brought a few fans for the bedrooms and that helped.
I cannot say enough good things about this cabin and location. It was amazing. On 2 separate occasions we saw a small black bear on the road to the property! We rented a boat from Fish Springs Marina, hiked the Appalachian Trail from Carvers Gap, mined for gems at Foggy Mountain, and visited the original Mast General Store and Annex. There are plenty of areas to hike around the property and neighborhood, as well as a fire pit and wood for evening fun.
There was WiFi at the property, which was an upgrade from the last time we stayed. Helpful extras we found were a step stool for the bathroom, kids table and chairs in the closet, and marshmallow roasting sticks.
We hope to return to this cabin again. I would highly recommend this cabin to anyone looking for a beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing vacation. Enjoyable for people of all ages. Thanks for letting us share your home and create lifelong memories together!
Great home with even better views. You are secluded from everything up there. The entire family enjoyed so much. That porch I could sit out there forever. Major plus is the sunrise directly off the porch. Note - no 4x4 is needed as we have a Honda Odyssey and made it up no problem. Thank you for the stay.
Great cabin and amazing place. Best vacation ever. Thank you
Cabin itself is gorgeous and very cozy. Loved it. The road leading to the cabin is not very safe especially at night time and if it’s raining or snowing. Before getting to the cabin make sure you go grocery shopping considering the nearest town is 30 minutes away. There is no WiFi, there is games and stuff upstairs but that can only keep someone entertained for so long especially if the weather is bad and you can’t go anywhere. Also be careful of the driveway, very steep slope.
