Spacious, bright, quiet
From the previous comments you know that this is a pleasant apartment. New appliances and big TV that you can connect to your laptop. We were even surprised that it actually feels bigger than it looks. There is also a terrace on the roof of the building for catching a little sun or taking a drink at sunset.
We were there in March and there were many hot days and people don't have air conditioning in Oaxaca, but the house is on a hill and when we opened the windows there was always a cooling breeze. We were always comfortable. Also the bedroom is at the back and therefore very quiet. Shower and beds were just fine.
A special feature is the attentiveness of the owner, Mitzi. Always either a phone call or email message away. On one occasion that was particularly important to me when I fell sick and she offered to bring a doctor over to attend me. Incredibly kind.
If we should ever go back to Oaxaca it would be a pleasure to stay here again.
Comfortable, clean and quiet
Lovely house for a family. Easy 10 minute walk to Alcala and the acqueduct. The house was clean and well equipped, and Mitzi was welcoming.
A very pleasant apartment in a friendly neighborhood. A bit of a challenge to walk to Santo Domingo.
Very comfortable and cool apartment in the March heat. Also, quiet at night with little to no noise. All in all a good property with nice and accommodating landlords. We were happy here.
Wonderful Apartment in a wonderful city
My wife and I stayed for 6 nights in Mitzi's apartment. She was a pleasure to work with all the way through the rental process and during our stay. The apartment is really, really lovely -- it seems to be brand new, and it is very modern and tastefully appointed. And it is huge with 2 bedrooms. 1.5 baths, two living/den spaces, and a large kitchen and dining room which seats six. It took about 10 minutes to walk to S Domingo i.e. its very centrally located. Highly Recommended!!!!
Absolutely Exceeded Our Expectations! Amazing!
I don't even know where to begin, so I suppose the best place to start is at the beginning.
We were heading to Oaxaca for a month and wanted a nice place, big enough to be very comfortable. We were hesitant to rent this as there were no reviews. We've traveled a good deal and all of our HomeAway and VRBO rentals have always had reviews. This was a gamble, but we took the risk and I can't tell you how impressed we were with every aspect of our experience.
We began our communications with the owner, Mitzi, and she was remarkably responsive. We never had to wait more than a few hours to get a response. She was helpful and assured us the apartment was as advertised. It was even better than that.
When we arrived, Mitzi greeted us at the door. When we walked in, we were blown away. The place was exactly like the pictures. Brand new, beautifully designed, tastefully furnished. The apartment was quiet, no road noise, no loud neighbors, just perfect. Located on a private street, this is a ground floor apt so no stairs. It was a short walk to a main street to catch a taxi.
We were staying over Christmas and New Years and were surprised to see that Mitzi had decorated the home very tastefully for the holidays.
Both the king size bed in the master and the queen in the other bedroom were very comfortable. Tons of closet space, windows for natural light and curtains to block out what little evening light there was. The kitchen was also beyond anything we expected. Not only did it have all the essentials (toaster, blender, microwave), but it had two juicers: one for squeezing your own orange juice, & another for juicing hard fruits, like carrots or apples. The refrigerator was huge & new. Really, we were there a month & never felt like we needed anything.
The location was just as advertised. A 15 minute walk to the Zócalo, (if you can keep yourself from stopping and looking at all the amazing little shops) & three blocks from a laundromat (Burbumatic) that provided 1-day service. We could easily walk to the Santo Domingo church in 10 minutes, where there are coffee shops and tons of restaurants.
The best thing was meeting & getting to Know Mitzi & her family. Kindness is an understatement. One day my wife was ill and Mitzi brought a doctor to the apartment, then went to the pharmacy to get what he prescribed. A wonderful family who made us feel welcomed.
You can't go wrong with this place. We would stay there again, no doubt!
Thank you, Mitzi
