Great Stay in Door County
This house is a great place! We had 12 total guys come up to door county from Chicago and stay here. We were very skeptical at first when we walked in because it was pretty hot in the place. However, once the window a/c units were operating it cooled pretty much the whole house off. Inside, the house is nice and vintage. Perhaps a better/larger tv could be the only upgrade for the interior. The amount of yard space offered in the backyard is amazing for fun activities, including bonfires. Throw in the fact that this house is right in the middle of door county, and this is a perfect rental property.
The house worked very well with all the different ages we had in our group. Nice location!
The house was so nice and clean. Lots of room, there was 7 of us and you always felt like there was a ton of space. Would recommend this location to anyone and would go back there without a doubt.
We enjoyed having your group and so delighted you enjoyed your time with us.
Fun in Fish Creek
We had a great time in Door County and at the Manistique Stone Cottage!
Pros: The house is very spacious and offered the perfect home base for our group of 11 adults. The yard is huge and very private with a great fire pit and lots of room for yard games and music. The two refrigerators were perfect for all of our food and drinks and the kitchen was well equipped. There were lots of places to sleep and get ready for the day. The decorations were cute, the screened in porch was perfect during the brief rainstorms and the kitchen table + patio table provided enough room during our mealtimes. The location is in an ideal location at the half way point between Fish Creek and Ephraim. We regularly camp at Peninsula State Park and loved being close while still having so many comfortable amenities.
Cons: There are only two bathrooms and only one shower (the other has a bath tub), this slowed us down a bit in the morning. Two of the rooms had bunk beds which would be great for kids but weren't ideal for a group of adults (we bumped our heads a couple of times!).
Overall, we all had a wonderful time and definitely hope to be back. Thank you so much for providing such a beautiful place for us to call home for the weekend.
We are so happy you enjoyed your stay. We look forward to your return.
We have installed a shower downstairs to give you two and a half baths. We have also installed window unit A/C units on each floor.
Roomy stone cottage in a great location !
This quaint stone cottage is a great place to stay in Fish Creek. It’s perfect for a family while visiting Door County. So close to everything with easy access to Peninsula State Park. The house was perfect for our family and we really enjoyed the large yard and fire pit. The bedrooms are clean, roomy and comfortable. Three bedrooms are upstairs and one downstairs. The bedroom downstairs had bunk beds and was nice to use as a playroom for the kids - already supplied with books and games. We also enjoyed the large dining room table and screened in porch. The kitchen could use a make over but it was functional and well stocked with dishes and glasses. This house was perfect for us and we enjoyed its quaint charm. Be sure to eat a Julie’s (at the entrance to the park) and rent bikes to enjoy the Sunset bike trail in the park. The beach in the park is nice and there are many activities available in the park for young and old. We spent several days enjoying all that the park has to offer. We loved the pizza from Wild Tomato in Fish Creek - they have a very efficient take-out system. We also enjoyed going to Sister Bay which is a short drive from the house. Sister Bay has a great public beach and playground. Be sure to eat at Al Johnson’s and check out the goats on the roof! They also have an outdoor beer garden with lawn games. Another fun activity we did was take the ferry to Washington Island. The lavender farm on the island is beautiful. We took our car on the ferry but we saw lots of people taking their bikes. Either way it’s a nice way to spend a day. I would definitely rent this house again - the location is perfect!
Thank you for staying with us. We hope to see you again.
