About this property

Victorian vicarage on tranquil country lane

Outside there is parking for three cars, with lawned areas and a large patio area providing options on dining space as well as comfortable seating and the all important barbecue should you wish to bring along some charcoal.

Inside there is WiFi - not the fastest due to the rural location, but certainly of a speed that handles Netflix or Amazon streaming. On the ground floor there is a dining room with feature fireplace and seating for four people very comfortably - take some time to look at the various Victorian albums on the sideboard.

Also to the ground floor is a spacious lounge overlooking the garden with open fire, a large comfortable sofa to snuggle up on and high quality chairs if you prefer your own relaxing space. A 'smart' TV and an assortment of games and puzzles ensure that you're kept entertained.

The large kitchen has the original slate floors and solid Oak worktops as well as all modern amenities including a range cooker, microwave, fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, toaster, kettle and the all important Nespresso machine for that early morning dose of caffeine.

Upstairs is a twin bedroom with TV/DVD player, wireless phone chargers and high quality beds for a perfect nights sleep wrapped in Egyptian cotton. Plenty of storage is provided - drawer space and wardrobe, as well as a wide selection of DVD's and a hairdryer. The original cast iron fireplace is no longer operational, but still provides a nice focal point in the room.

The master bedroom is extremely spacious and decorated with Versace wallpaper. It has a TV, dressing table/desk, seating area and a king size bed with a very high quality mattress. Again, all bedding is Egyptian cotton for that luxury touch and a perfect night's sleep. There is also a blue-tooth wireless speaker for your enjoyment and wireless phone chargers at each bedside. Plenty of storage is provided in the antique chests and wardrobe, as well as an iron and ironing board. A hairdryer is also provided in the room. The adjoining en-suite is newly refitted with a Victorian style suite and soft luxury towels.

The master bathroom is also newly refitted with a Victorian style suite, Amtico marble flooring and the same luxury towels for when you get out of the slipper bath.

The house is a great place to unwind, very peaceful with lots of birds and wildlife and some beautiful walks without the crowds that you find at many Lake District destinations. Plenty of Lake District books are left in the house, so you'll never be short of ideas on where to go and what to see.

If you truly want to unwind in a peaceful, but very accessible location, then Danes Court House is for you. We would be delighted to welcome you.

Doesn't Get Better Than This
My husband and I stayed at Danes Court with my parents. Both the vicarage and it's location are almost too good to be true. It was like stepping back in time! There are lots of footpaths to explore in the immediate area and a wonderful pub just down the road. If you want to get away from modern life, you can't find a better place to do it. One suggestion, make sure to shop before hand and bring your groceries with you.

A beautiful spot, a beautiful welcoming property
We have had an amazing time at Danes Court House. The property was gorgeous and everything had been done to make it a welcoming and comfortable stay, from Prosecco in the fridge on arrival to wireless chargers by the beds, board games, towels, toiletries, super comfy beds, visiting deer and woodpeckers (ok those not arranged by the host but still…). Highly recommended. Off the beaten track but really close to loads of useful places, great walks in all directions. Sad to have to leave! Must mention fantastic meal at the Hare & Hounds too.

Lovely Secluded Property
We had a fantastic stay at Danes Court House. It is in a wonderful secluded location and is a very well equipped stunning property. The owners Nigel and Georgina were always very helpful and although we didn't meet, their communication with us was excellent. We thoroughly recommend this well maintained property to everyone.

Haven of tranquillity
Danes Court House makes for the ideal location from which to explore the beautiful Lake District. The house is charming, spacious and kept in impeccable order. Peaceful and tranquil; the outside space is a particular highlight. We were so impressed by and grateful for, the hospitality shown by Nigel and Georgina - we had a wonderful weeks' family holiday. We would thoroughly recommend Danes Court House to anyone and shall look forward to retuning in the future.
