Our stay at Carol’s place was great. First, it was absolutely immaculate. I’ve never been in any Airbnb or Vrbo rental that was this clean. Second, there was a perfect amount of space for the 6 of us (parents, kids & grandparents). There was a study room that was perfect for my dad to have some quiet time away from the kids and to study for his promotion interview coming up. My kids loved “their” bedroom, the Mickey & Minnie on the bed was a cute touch and boy were they excited to see a TV in their room....they aren’t allowed to have that at home:)
The pool & game room was a big hit. My kids were able to burn off whatever excess energy they had after the theme parks (no idea how they had any left because the adults were spent).
Although minor, there were a couple things that caught me off guard. We were only allowed one toilet paper & paper towel roll during our entire stay. The management paper stated the place was self serving. We had to go to the store for some groceries anyway so we just got some when we were out. I just think enough toilet paper, especially should be provided for the entire stay. The toilet paper was very thin so we went through it quite quickly between the 6 of us, 7 nights and 3 rolls (there was 1 extra under one of the sinks too). Also, a big one that got me was that you have to pay for the “pool heat” extra to get “spa heat” & the spa heat only gets to 100 degrees. We didn’t need the pool heat, just wanted the adults to be able to enjoy the spa after long Disney days. I’m sure it had said it in one of the documents I received but it was definitely an unexpected expense a couple days before leaving on our trip. In San Diego, we can run a spa without needing the pool heat so I just had no idea that was even a thing. I know this is completely out of the owners hands but our neighbors were extremely loud until about 2am almost nightly. They were partying out by the pool with a lot of people. I had to say something to them at about 1am one of the nights but nothing changed. It was hard for my kids and I to sleep through it, especially needing to wake up early for the parks daily. I’m sure this was very situational and doesn’t happen often.
Regardless, we had an amazing time! We would stay here again, if we are able to because it was an overall pleasant experience. Thankful that Carol opened up her home to us, creating fun memories we will never forget!
