ABOUT GARDONE :
The village is small, but there are many things to see in Gardone Riviera: beautiful and elegant structures and monuments of great value, which reflect the harmony of the shapes and colors of the landscape of Lake Garda, as if they had always been there.
A tourist destination since the nineteenth century, it is famous above all for being the residence of Gabriele D'Annunzio from 1921 until his death. In fact, it is here that the Vittoriale degli Italiani, wanted by D'Annunzio with its house, the Prioress, the Gardens and the wonderful Amphitheatre, is located.
Definitely, among the things to visit there is the Church of San Nicola, which is located right in the Piazzale del Vittoriale, and the beautiful Villa Alba. This last one, christened with the name of "Villa Ruhland", whose literal translation is of "Peace in the landscape", resume the true essence of these places.
Do not miss the Hruska Botanical Garden : a long walk among beautiful plants and rare flowers, in the middle of which overlook strange buildings and beautiful works of art. From the orderly Japanese gardens, where you can also find real ponds, you pass to the rocky area, crossing paths really extraordinary, which reflect the most beautiful forms of nature.
For those who love the so-called dynamic holiday, Lake Garda is the perfect location to have fun doing sports: sailing, free climbing and cyclocross in the hills overlooking the lake.
Impossible to get bored in Gardone: many routes to be covered on your bike, motorcycle, or on foot, theme parks (Gardaland is a stone’s throw), thermal baths, beautiful boat trips to admire every corner of Lake Garda and its islets and many places ready to meet any need.
