Hosting three bedrooms, including a king-size, a ground-floor double and a double, along with a bathroom and a first-floor cloakroom, this property can sleep up to six guests. There is also a kitchen and a sitting room with a woodburning stove. Outside there is off-road parking for one car, and an enclosed garden with a barbecue, shed and furniture. 1 Station Cottages is the perfect base from which to explore the Cairngorms and Scottish Highlands.

Town: Dalwhinnie is a small hamlet set amongst the exceptional mountain scenery of Badenoch, a fantastic base to explore the scenic countryside. The area is one of the coldest in the UK, making for a wonderful trip for winter walking and mountaineering while just south of the area rests Drumochter, and both Edinburgh and Glasgow are within easy reach, under three hours away by car. Dalwhinnie itself hosts the Dalwhinnie Brewery and is known for its Dalwhinnie Single Malt whiskey, while boasting an abundance of walking and cycling routes surrounded in the breathtaking scenery of the Cairngorms National Park.

Très decevant
Malgré une très bonne localisation pour découvrir les Highlands et en particulier les environs de Pitlochry, nous avons été très déçus par notre séjour d’une semaine dans le cottage. En effet, la propreté laisse très franchement à désirer ! Nous avons dû laver l’ensemble de la vaisselle avant de pouvoir l’utiliser et passer plus d’une heure pour rendre la hotte dans un état acceptable : l’ensemble était recouvert d’une couche de graisse absolument dégoûtante ! Quand nous avons contacté le propriétaire, la réponse a seulement été qu’il en serait tenu compte pour les prochaines locations ! Enfin, il faut noter que le cottage se trouve au bord d’une ligne de train assez fréquentée. Ce n’est pas gênant, mais nous aurions trouvé honnête que cela figure dans le descriptif.
