Great base for touring Connemara

Pleasant, fully equipped, cottage in a good location with off street parking, approx 10 min walk to town centre. Close to the start of the scenic Sky Road loop and the main road to Connemara National Park, Kylemore Abbey, Killary Harbour, etc. Ideal for a couple or small family. (Mains water pressure was a bit low when we were there but that was a minor problem) Plenty of bars and restaurants in Clifden town, so no excuse to eat at home! Enjoyed our stay very much.

Grand for a short stay

Only stayed for 2 nights, so didn't use much of the facilities. Window in upstairs bathroom looks straight into a big mirror over the sink, meaning the neighbours across the road could see straight in if they wished - perhaps frosted glass would have been a better option. The TV didn't work, the lights were on but nobody was home - not a big issue, as the Wifi was good so used laptop instead (I'm a technician by trade, so I'm quite satisfied I was operating the TV correctly! Even reverted to the instructions provided, without avail. TV just did not want to turn on). All in all a Comfortable property on a nice quite residential area, 3mins walk from town centre.

Rather disappointing

This semi-detached house was a rather mixed bag. Plenty of space but in need of some TLC. Lounge smelt of moth balls. Kitchen equipment OK overall, but lacking in some areas such as bowls, cutlery (knives and teaspoons) and no coffee press. Not everyone likes capsule coffee which is no good for filling a coffee mug/flask. Bedrooms - I had no choice but to stay in the downstairs bedroom as other bedrooms were locked. Downstairs shower has an enormous crack through the rear wall and crawling insects in the base. Bathroom also had a large wall crack and ungrouted floor tiles. Also no window coverings in either bathroom - not ideal when washing at night. I couldn't wash my hair as there was no hair dryer. The garden is given over to a sea of weedy gravel. Good points included wifi, parking, plentiful towels, organic recycling, location near town centre and plenty of hot water, once tap stopped spitting (air in system).

Comfortable, well equipped (only missing washing machine) and well located (quiet and walking distance to Clifden) property. Provides all needed for an enjoyable break in Connemara.
