About this property

Spacious 4-bed cottage with parking, garden, & large balcony, in village centre

4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, sleeps 8/9

A spacious and characterful four-bedroomed holiday cottage in the heart of Mevagissey with panoramic views over the hills from the large south-facing balcony. This holiday cottage is just a five-minute walk from the picturesque harbour and bustling village centre where you will find a plethora of independent shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.

A rare find in this location is the south-facing Landscaped gravel garden where you can sit and enjoy a drink in the sunshine. The large south-facing balcony can be accessed from patio doors in both the living and dining rooms and so is perfect for both pre and after dinner drinks whilst taking in the views across the rolling hills.

The spacious cottage is perfect for family holidays and groups of friends alike. There is plenty of space for socialising together.

Children Are always welcome. A travel cot, highchair available.

The cottage in rooms are generously proportioned and thoughtfully decorated with a modern yet cosy feel.

The kitchen is fully equipped with dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, fridge/freezer, range cooker, coffee maker and toaster. There is a separate utility room with iron and ironing board, a tumble dryer and a beer fridge.

The dining room seats 10 and has patio doors onto the balcony if you don’t fancy dinner in the village, cooking and eating at home is a great option. With fresh fish arriving in the harbour daily why wouldn’t you!

The living room is inviting and cosy with sofas and a woodburning stove. There is a Smart Tv and DVD player and Wi-Fi. At Christmas we provide a Christmas tree and some trimmings!

Upstairs is a family bathroom and ensuite to the master bedroom. There is a separate toilet downstairs. All the bathrooms are well-sized, modern and with a high-quality finish. Bath towels are provided but please bring your own beach towels. A hairdryer is also available.

Four bedrooms:
1 double with ensuite
1 king size
1 twin (2 beds)

Parking is rare in the centre of Mevagissey but the cottage has its own on-site private parking, a real bonus!

Mevagissey is a great place to holiday. You can enjoy all that the village and harbour have to offer; From hipster coffee and contemporary dining to more traditional activities like crabbing in the harbour and ice creams in the Sun.

There are plenty of beautiful beaches and bays just a short drive away, our favourites are Gorran Haven, and for Portmellon (Which you can walk to in 20 minutes). Or leave the car at home and enjoy the stunning scenery of a coastal path walk. We are just 9 miles from the Eden Project and a short walk or drive from the lost gardens of Heligan. The historic harbour at Charlestown (6 miles) Is a must say, you may get lucky and spot a tall ship or Poldark being filmed!

Generous-Sized Rooms
Many houses in Mevagissey back onto a cliff and don't have room to swing a cat. Not true for this one! Three couples stayed, leaving one bedroom empty. Filling the last one might have led to a queue for the bathroom, but we entertained another couple on two occasions. There was plenty of room for eight around the dining table. The patio was a pleasant place to hang out and have a drink. Tandem parking for two cars required coordination and was a little tight, but this is Mevagissey. One parking spot is good. There are a number of stairs from the parking, but access to the harbour from the house involves only a gently sloping street. The house is generally well-equipped - including detergent for both dishwasher and washing machine. One minor complaint is there were only five large bowls. Maybe the others had been recently broken, and there were additional smaller bowls. An irritation to my partner was that the large collection of kitchen knives did not include one that was sharp. Those are suggestions for improvement, but we all enjoyed our time.

Beautiful house, fantastic location
The house had everything we wanted and more. The balcony is a gem even in the winter. Mevagissey is a lovely place with fab shops, pubs and restaurants - we will have to cone again to try them all. Parking at the rear was a real bonus as must be extremely busy in summer.
