Great House and Location
I had a great stay! The house was lovely and the yard was perfect for my two poodles. I was close to visit my family at Beaver Lake and spent time in Bentonville. I can highly recommend staying at Michelle’s place.

About the host

We have called Arkansas home for most of our lives. Michelle graduated from Bentonville High School and Bryan originally hails from Little Rock. We have traveled extensively with our jobs and for leisure, and we think Northwest Arkansas offers the total package when it comes to places to live.

This part of the state has always been a natural showcase of rivers, lakes and wooded mountains. And of course, we are home to some of the world's
largest companies. In the last several years, we have proudly watched the area blossom into a destination for fine arts, culinary crafts, and single track biking - and much more!

We currently live in Fayetteville, a couple of towns south of Bentonville, in a home we built overlooking the White River. We have two dogs and a coop full of chickens. We love to sneak up to Bentonville to experience the newest restaurant or bike around town.

Why they chose this property

Michelle purchased the home before she met Bryan. After marrying, we lived here together for a short time and then rented it out to a sweet family for several years. We moved in again while we were building our current home. We have created many happy memories here and have loved and cared for the home deeply and well.

The quiet cul de sac contains some of Bentonville's original "modern homes"... 1960's ranchers with attached garages which were first purchased by the town's influential leaders for their families in the years before Walmart put Bentonville on the map.

When Michelle purchased the house, many of its original high end "modern" features were still intact: a wall oven, custom cabinets, built-in stovetop, and floor-to-ceiling baby blue tiles in the bathrooms. While all were still functioning perfectly, we preferred to bring the house into the 21st century with many updates. The only exception is the original oak flooring which gives off a golden glow on sunny days.

What makes this property unique

Large oaks and maples shade the wide streets and deep backyards of the neighborhood. Our shady backyard is a perfect place to lounge while your pooches sniff the fenceline.

Inside the home, we love the feel of the smooth oak floorboards under our bare feet. The roomy kitchen is a fun place to prep a meal, and you can watch the world go by through the large picture window in the living room.

We've equipped the house with creature comforts that we always look for when we're traveling... good sheets and fluffy white towels, quality and playful kitchen gear, comfy beds with a variety of pillow and blanket types, a coffeemaker and a corkscrew among the essentials.

Above all, the location makes this house a winner. While it's nestled in the middle of a quiet cul de sac among similar houses, you can jump in the car and be at Crystal Bridges in 5 minutes, the Square in 3 minutes, and one of four grocery stores in 3 minutes. If you want to stretch your legs, all of these destinations are easily accessible by bike or foot. A walk to the Square for an ice cream cone (or an upscale dinner) takes about 12 minutes and we like to think we burn some calories along the way. It's a SAFE walk, too, past some of Bentonville's historic homes, brand new "mansions", churches, and schools.

If you're visiting Bentonville for the culinary scene - expect to be 6 to 16 blocks from the hottest spots.

If you're here for the art - you're 6 blocks from 21c and just a bit further to the gardens of Crystal Bridges.

If you're here for paved trail biking - leave from the house and you can go for miles in any direction. If you're not a regular cycler, try an E-Bike! Rentals of all types are available at MOJO Cycling, OZ E-Bikes, or Phat Tire Bike Shop,

If you're here for single track - Slaughter Pen is half mile north and Bella Vista's Back 40 can be accessed about 6 miles beyond that.

Canoeing and kayaking, hiking, rock climbing, and many other outdoor adventures are just a few miles beyond.
