About this property

Luxury Farmhouse Retreat between Lucca and the Beach

Immersed in the green and luscious hills of Lucca, with unspoilt views all around, the house and it's gardens appear magically crafted out of the pages of Burnett's "Secret Garden." A lived in family retreat - once the "casa della Chiesa" - marries the best of Tuscany with the charm and taste of a British Art Collector.
It's conveniently located to allow access to Lucca, Pietrasanta, Pisa, Forte dei Marmi, Carrara, The Apennines, and Florence, so one can mix quiet and rest with culture, or outdoor action with shopping.

Immersed in the green and luscious hills of Lucca, with unspoiled views all around, the house is conveniently located 20 minutes from the city centre and 30 minutes from the hip seaside town of Forte Dei Marmi. Originally built in medieval times as the parish house next to the church, the house has been sapiently restructured as a charming country family retreat by its owners who have merged the best of the Italian style with the charm of the English eccentricity.

The Garden

Carefully planned to reflect with it's plants and flowers the different seasons of the year the garden is full of paths and little walks. Every corner, every turn, presents a new surprise view of the house or of the valley below. A stream, and a fish ponds, a tree house, the rose garden, an olive grove, a cypress archway, a secluded swimming pool, and for those who like to play, a croquet set, a ping pong and hidden away from view even a football ground.

Dipping

The pool is perfectly integrated in the landscape so not to be en eyesore. It's designed to be in a position to guarantee absolute privacy and quietness from the rest of the house.

Relaxing Al Fresco

Following to the hours of day and the sun, the house features diverse areas where best relax or enjoy the company of friends and family. This allows everyone to find their spot and to have their own privacy. Or to enjoy a meal outdoors in the favourite spot.

The house is at one with the garden. Surrounded by doors that open towards the outside, creating a flux of cool air that flows from room to room.

Every corner of the house reveals the owner’s passion for art. Featuring an Art historian library, pick up your book and put it back in the same place please.

The House features two terraces, one patio, one kitchen, one dining room, one drawing room, two fireplaces, and one library/TV room, and one utility room.

The kitchen opens onto the patio terrace where one can enjoy most meals in the breeze. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher and 2 ovens. It is informal and familiar, well organised for lovers of cooking. It has a table for 4 frequently used for coffee breaks and snacks during the day. This villa is truly amazing.
Beautiful green and lush surroundings, very privat and peaceful area. We stayed for two weeks in this charming and historic house. It's quite spacious, with room for both privacy and social activities. We truly enjoyed the well kept garden, the pool area and the veranda. The location is great with bigger towns such att Lucca and Pisa near by. The ocean is just 30 minutes away. There is also a lot of wonderful small hillside restaurants near by. Giuseppe was very welcoming and helpful and quick to respond.

As gorgeous as the pictures!
As gorgeous as the pictures! A group of 6 friends thoroughly enjoyed this spectacular villa for 10 days. We day tripped to cinque terre, forte dei marni, Lucca, Pisa, San gimignano, and more. We had fabulous meals locally. Such a treat to walk the garden, relax by the pool, watch the thunder and lightning from the covered veranda. Guiseppe was our local contact and he was super friendly and on point with recommendations. The villa hit the mark in every way.

This estate is a wonder
This estate is a wonder. It is not a house designed to be a short term rental, it is a personal experience curated by the hosts and generously shared with the guests. The house and the garden are full of treasures to be discovered (the garden changes with the light over the course of the day) and have clearly been built and cared for over time. We felt so privileged to be able to experience them both. Communication with Sidrak and the team was quick and easy, the house was beautifully prepared for our arrival, and the guestbook was full of honest and useful information.

Amazing Property
I can’t say enough about this amazing property … everything from the gardens to the architecture to the interior design was stunning. While the location is a bit remote, we found it a delightful location to spend quality time with family and friends. We indulged in a cooking class, making homemade pasta topped off with Tiramisu. Truly one of the most memorable trips our very well traveled family has experienced.

Thank you
Easy communication and beautiful stay. The vila is secluded but has all we needed for out of the city break. Rooms are clean, kitchen well equipped and grounds are gorgeous. Our 2 teenage sons played soccer all day, table tennis and swam in salt water pool. We loved our stay and will recommend to friends Thank you
