About this property

Windmill Flower Barn - Luxury Cottages

At a glance
A rural setting in the stunning Somerset Levels Private south-facing garden with hot tub and barbecue Great location for country walks, cycling and birdwatching
About the property
This timber clad barn used to be a florist's workshop and is now a cosy and characterful place for two to stay. Décor is modern throughout with strong pops of colour, such as the blue kitchen units and the botanical themed statement headboard in the bedroom, that beautifully hint at its former life. Situated in the hamlet of Pibsbury it's a fantastic base for enjoying the south Somerset countryside, while the private south-facing garden and hot tub make it perfect for a quiet and romantic break.
The space
Slip off muddy boots at the entrance of the cottage where there is a storm porch with a beautifully tiled floor. Inside, the accommodation is all on the one level and there is oak flooring throughout.

At the heart of the property is the open-plan kitchen/dining/lounge room which has wooden ceiling beams and velux windows. Snuggle up in front of the wood burner after a winter walk or on a chilly evening. There's a Smart TV with Freeview, plus access to Netflix /Amazon/iPlayer (own login details required), or you might be content just gazing at the views across the countryside.

The kitchen space has all you could need to whip up everything from a romantic breakfast or a relaxing dinner. There's an oven and hob, a microwave, a Nespresso coffee machine, a kettle, a toaster, a fridge/freezer and a dishwasher. Sit down at the dining table for two and enjoy your meal whilst planning the next day's adventure.

Two sets of French doors lead back outside to the enclosed, private south-facing garden at the front of the cottage. Here, you will find your cedarwood hot tub (which is electrically heated and has jets), two lounge chairs and throws so that you can relax outdoors, sipping drinks and stargazing until late.

There is also a utility room which is attached to the cottage but has a separate entrance. Inside, there is a washing machine and space to hang wet clothes, while the space also provides handy lockable bike storage.

The bedroom features a king-size bed, a wardrobe and drawers, as well as an en-suite shower room with a walk-in shower, a WC and a basin. A hairdryer is also provided.

Beautiful, relaxing stay
We spent 3 days in the flower barn and it was perfect. Mark was very friendly on arrival and helpful. The farm itself is beautiful and you are able to explore the grounds. The Flower barn was clean and very well decorated with everything you needed. We had such a wonderful relaxing stay. Our dog was able to roam around in the garden due to it being fenced off. A perfect little break. We will definitely be back!

Absolutely stunning
The barn was amazing. Beautifully decorated and with quality fittings. The hot tub was the icing on the cake. We will tell everyone about it and hope to be back again for another stay.

Very very nice
Stayed for 2 nights, and it was bliss! The property is immaculate and very well finished. Nice that it was all fenced in so the dog could wander around. Would highly recommend!

Short birthday break
Overall this was a fantastic getaway property. We were only there for a short time but they went above expectations with some local brandy cider and local food. Cottage was lovely and had everything you needed and more in a beautiful area with a private peaceful hot tub and furnished to an amazing standard. Only thing we found was first time round sailed past the gate on our drive as maps doesn’t quite direct you to the right part of the road. However the whole experience and cottage was more than expected and would love to come back and stay for longer.

What a great property!
The photographs on the website convinced us to choose Windmill Flower Barn for our one-week holiday in Somerset but when we arrived it was clear that even the photos don’t do the property justice - everything seemed much more spacious when we were there. The barn has been beautifully decorated, comfortably furnished and was immaculately clean throughout. The kitchen is well equipped with pans and utensils, and the four-ring hob/oven meant that our culinary creativity was unconstrained. There is also a good-sized barbeque in the garden if that’s your catering preference. The barn has its own private “garden” area, fenced off from the rest of the farm, which provides seating, a dining table and a hot tub. We would loved to have spent more time relaxing and dining in this space but unfortunately the English summer weather – wind and rain – had other ideas. The River Yeo is a short walk from the barn and you can follow the river all the way to Langport, though you’d be better off driving if you’re going to do your food shopping – there’s a Tesco and a good selection of independent food shops in the town. In summary, the barn provides a comfortable and serene base from which to explore the many delights of Somerset. Thank you to Kate and Mark for the lovely “welcome pack” of goodies on arrival and for responding so quickly to our head-banging issue!
