The surrounding countryside provides plenty of easy walking - just start your walk at the end of the road
Lots to see and visit in the area - head up the coast to Cromer and Sheringham or the Norfolk Broads for a dog friendly day boat hire.
Plenty of choices for places to eat in the area - all dog friendly.

The front door leads straight into the hallway with hanging space and a small bookcase.  There is a fixed gate at  the bottom of the stairs. The hallway has a textured slate floor with underfloor heating.  Just inside the door is the downstairs toilet/cloakroom.

Kitchen
Open plan kitchen just off the dining area, fully fitted with electric oven, gas hob, large fridge/freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, condenser dryer and plenty of well planned cupboard space. From here there are French doors opening out onto the garden.  These have dog pawprint motifs on to avoid any accidents. Stairs lead from the hallway up to.....

There is a range of items useful for any holiday such as cool box, picnic basket and blankets, fold up camp chairs and a couple of sun loungers.

Fab holiday

Fab cottage. Comfy, well equipped and nicely located. Proper pubs, with excellent food. Lovely beaches, woods and commons. We have used East Ruston Cottages for about 16 years and they are the bee's knees.

A very well equipped and charming dog-friendly cottage

We have stayed at Farthing Cottage before, which is why we returned. It is a charming and thoughtfully equpped cottage in a pleasant village with an excellent pub and well situated for walks on the coast.

Nice stay at Farthing Cottage

Very nice property in a quiet village with dog friendly pub. Property has everything you need, including a large selection of dog crates. Property is clean and tidy with clean furniture. Garden offers a grassed area for the dogs and a large patio area fir the owners. Loads of beaches just a small drive away all accepting dogs. Highly recommend the craft bakery in Mundsley, beautiful bread and cream cakes.

Great dog friendly accommodation

We loved our stay- with three spaniels it is difficult to find a truly dog friendly place to stay where the dogs are as happy as the humans! Great walks, near the beach and everything you and your pooches need. Host was very accommodating by letting us in early

Farthing cottage

Farthing cottage is in the quiet village of Trunch. The property wasn’t as clean as I would have expected from stays at previous ERC properties but on contacting the company this was quickly resolved. The property was very warm and comfortable and the perfect place for our week long stay. There was everything you could possibly need for you and equipment for your dogs stored in the attached garage, beds bowls, crates, buggies, ramps etc. There were loads of fabulous walks straight from the door and into the adjoining fields and countryside. It is ideally located for visiting the beach and numerous National Trust properties. Highly recommended

Relaxing break in North Norfolk

We had a pleasant weekend break in Farthing Cottage over the first weekend in November, hoping for a rest from the constant fireworks that are a feature of our home life at this time of year. The cottage was lovely and warm - our foster greyhound was comfortable without his pajamas. The beds were comfortable and we enjoyed some pleasant walks around the area. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and the welcome hamper was amazing. All in all, I would highly recommend the cottage to dog owners.

Cosy for dogs and humans

Lovely cottage to stay in to be able to visit the North Norfolk Coast. It was always warm and cosy when we returned from bracing walks on the beach. It is comfortable and well equipped for both humans and dogs with a very generous welcome basket for both. The garden is secure so had peace of mind letting our dog out to explore. Liked the holiday identity tag for the dog's collar..... great idea! My only niggles would be that the touch stay app didn't correspond to the information on the Web site and it took all day to get a reply from East Ruston Cottages. However the cottage owner is going to review the app and Sue from ERC had been at Crufts the weekend before. My other niggle would be that when we got to the cottage there was no crate in situ, as requested, and we had to locate it in the garage.... this probably felt more difficult as it was dark by the time we arrived. Already looking to see where we can go next!

Good base to explore the area

We had a lovely week in Trunch which is a good base to explore the surrounding area. It’s somewhere we will be revisiting. Farthing cottage was comfortable and met the majority of our needs for our stay. If we had one criticism, the garden needed a bit of attention.

Great short break

We were delighted to find everything as described with far more dog equipment than we would need. Our greyhound loved the garden which, although small, allowed him to have a run around. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen provided all we needed for self catering, although we ate out mostly. The hamper of food for us and our dog was generous and very welcome. The cottage is in a lovely position in Trunch and we easily found good walks nearby. I haven’t a bad thing to say about the accommodation and would happily stay there again.

An idyllic week

Recently returned from a wonderful week at Farthing Cottage, the cottage was ideal, peaceful village location, extremely dog friendly, especially the enclosed garden. The interior was tastefully decorated with an extremely well equipped kitchen and accessories/equipment in the garage for excursions and enjoyment in the garden. The hosts had kindly left provisions and special touches for our anniversary. Plenty of parking outside the house. Couldn’t recommend more highly, it made our first visit to Norfolk so comfortable and memorable.

Return Visit

This was our second stay at Farthing Cottage and we enjoyed it just as much as the first one. Very comfy bed and sofa. Well equipped for both humans and dogs and very secure garden. Well located for beaches and inland walks as well as The Crown pub which was only a short walk away. The only thing missing is a local shop if you needed last minute supplies.

Lovely stay!

We had a lovely stay at Farthing cottage with our two dogs. Amazing welcome pack on arrival and the garage has so many dog towels, throws, bowls, crates etc all you could ask for. Brilliant location quick drive to Mundesley Beach and a short walk to the local pub. The house was clean and comfy. Gorgeous log burner too! Highly recommend.

Lovely cottage - great stay

Cottage very clean. Fab welcome pack. They thought of nearly everything. Only thing lacking is a poo bin for doggie doo. Perhaps locate one in garden and then guests could empty on last day of their stay. Would definitely recommend and return.

Lovely cottage but no amenities

Cottage is fantastic, welcome pack was a very appreciated and generous touch. Everything a dog needs is on hand. Beds are amazingly comfy. The only drawback is that the info needs updating as the local pub is closing and was only open for one night of our stay and the advertised village shop has closed.. There is nothing else in walking distance.

Our week in Farthing Cottage

We had a lovely relaxing week in Farthing Cottage. The welcome pack for us humans (kettle crisps, oat cakes, cookies, sausages, bacon, eggs, bread, butter and Apple juice and handmade dog biscuits etc for the dogs was great. The Cottage provided everything we needed for our 6 dogs, and us too. Great local walks, and the local pub only 5 minutes walk away from the cottage, who are dog friendly. Highly recommended
