Not for the faint hearted

This property (while close to the city) is definitely on the “wrong side of the tracks”. Having said that, I enjoyed the interactions with the locals who, once they realised I was Australian and not American, were very friendly and the sports club/cafe/pub just across the road under the freeway and railway arches was great albeit a bit grotty and rough. The apartment was sort of clean but very hot and stuffy. Did have a washing machine though! Laughed at the house rules which included removing your rubbish - so I removed my own plus the rubbish that had been left prior to my arrival.
