About Shannon Poynter
We are people who enjoy travelling. We travel extensively in the United States and also spend a lot of time in Mexico, as well as trips into Europe and Asia. We are both very active in the outdoors and enjoy exploring local foods and restaurants. We settled in Taos because of our love for Skiing, Mountain biking, hiking, culture, history and tradition. Before coming to Taos we had a successful farm in Oregon where we grew and supplied a large area with specialty salad greens for twenty years. We have raised two kids and are involved in local kids activities with our nephews and nieces and our god children. We love community and participate in schools, fundraisers, athletic events, town fiestas and pow wows. Because of our experiences, we are well versed in the hospitably trades and as fellow travelers we have learned what makes accommodations comfortable and pleasant.
Why Shannon Poynter chose Taos
Want to get outside? The property is steps away from hiking trails taking you to the confluence of the Rio and the Arroyo Hondo, ten minutes from the premier "Horse Thief" mountain biking trails and 25 minutes from Taos Ski Valley. Hot air balloons, river rafting, SUP yoga, rock climbing, fly fishing, birding-all within easy access. Taos is also extremely well known for its historic culture and art and is home to many fabulous galleries, museums as well as the exquisite Taos Pueblo. There is also great food from vast plates of green chile enchiladas and posole to fine, regional dining. The space is a perfect place for contemplative study, writing, art, yoga. A small family or a couple of close friends will be comfortable here.
