Ideal for history lovers, Trullo Raffaela is a converted traditional building situated in the culturally rich region of Puglia. There is a UNESCO World Heritage Site in the nearby village of Alberobello, while the pretty towns of Martina Franca and Locorotondo offer examples of classic Italian architecture. The trulli characteristic of this area were originally designed as agricultural buildings with conical roofs and a keystone that could be quickly removed so that the structure would collapse when the tax collectors paid a visit. But nowadays, these restored little buildings are built to last, with the reassurance of cement holding the limestone tiles in place. Trullo Raffaela has been lovingly restored and is now a beautiful three-bedroom villa that can comfortably house a family or two couples travelling together. Inside there is a double room, a twin room and a single room. Outside, there is an enclosed garden with a choice of terraces and a pool. Staying under the high vaulted ceilings of these delightful buildings is a unique and enchanting experience. Puglia is home to exceptional local produce, so there are plenty of places to enjoy regional highlights and dining out in the nearby local villages. Join the Strada Statale 16 direction Brindisi/Taranto Bari Centro (on the righthand side) 3. Drive for 69 km and exit at Fasano / Taranto 4. Follow the sign for Taranto and enter the SS172dir then follow the instructions below for all drivers. From Brindisi airport (approximately 55 minutes’ drive) 1. Follow the road for 1,6 km and then stay on the left to strada Volza 5. And after 30 meters take a right to Strada Giuseppe Battaglini 6. After 1 km take a left to strada Monte Tre Carlini 7. After 190 meters take a right to SP60 8. Drive for 850 meters and take a right on the road of the property, drive for 550m and you find it.
