About this property

The Lodge, Shrawardine Castle, hot tub, wild swim

Idyllic, country cottage 4km from Shrewsbury with hot tub. Renovated in Farrow and Ball style, its perfect for family holidays, small groups or couples looking for a country bolthole.

Our river meadows meet the River Severn and a private wetland area is just a short walk from the cottage. We welcome you to bring a well behaved dog and explore our farm.

South Shropshire hills on our doorstep and the Welsh coast within reach, we are surrounded by some of the most beautiful countryside in the UK.
The space
The Lodge is a charming and characterful place to stay. It works well for small groups, family events, couples or even for a business stay in the area. With two bedrooms in the eaves, white picket fencing, port hole windows, 'playpods' for children to chillout in, it is packed with charming features that will make it a memorable place to stay.

The Lodge has a spacious and light dining area, a cosy sitting room with a log burner and comfy sofas. Downstairs there is also a king size bedroom and a family bathroom and upstairs there is an ensuite off the master double bedroom.

There is also a small twin bedroom upstairs, a cot is available.

The kitchen has everything you need to make time spent in there a pleasant experience. Shaker style cabinets, coffee machine with pods, a range set into a tiled chimney breast, microwave, washing machine, dishwasher and a modern standup fridge freezer in a retro design. An additional fridge in the Summer Room for easy access to cold beverages.

The cottage is set in a large enclosed garden with a seating/eating area with fabulous views out across the fields. A rural idyll.
Guest access
As well as the cottage and gardens, guests have access to walks around the farm. There is a footpath outside the front door that leads down to the River meadows and the same footpath leads the other way towards a bird-watching haven in 'The Pool'. The Cottage is also located on the National Cycle Route 81.
