About this property
Mauds Cottage Kilhallon Tywardreath & Par Cornwall sleeps 2
About this space
Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Mauds Cottage is an old railway workers house which we have renovated whilst keeping its old world charm. Luxury fixtures and fittings will make it hard to leave, but the cottage is close to all the amenities Cornwall has to offer such as the Eden Project, Lost Gardens of Heligan . It is close to the beach at Par and also close to the harbour town of Fowey. It’s perfect as a romantic bolt hole.
The space
Parking is at the top of the path to the cottage (on the pebbles at 5 Kilhallon).
Access to the cottage is accessed down a small lane on foot.
The cottage has a small entrance hall, the lounge and bathroom are accessed from here.
The bathroom has a shower, sink with vanity unit, and a heated towel rail (gets very hot .. so be careful).
The lounge has a comfortable sofa and chair to snuggle down and watch some of the many channels available on the large TV. The turquoise ever hot is the finishing touch for a romantic hideaway. A marble topped bistro table is provided so you can eat overlooking the garden. Maybe relax on the window seat.
The kitchen which is accessed from the lounge is fully fitted with oven, hob, microwave, under counter fridge with freezer compartment, washing machine, toaster, kettle and a Nespresso machine. Being foodies we hope we have ticked every box where kitchen equipment is concerned.
Up the original narrow staircase (mind your head) to the snug area, with sofa to relax and read, or to just have some separate space (good if you need to do some work whilst on holiday) then through to the large main bedroom, with a king size bed and velvet headboard to relax and watch the view of the church tower. There is a TV to watch if the freshly pressed linen makes it difficult to get up.
Outside there is a lovely garden with bench and bistro table and chairs to relax and enjoy the tranquillity, or perhaps eat your dinner in the sunshine.
Other things to note
Due to the fact there is a short walk to the property from the parking area and steep steps this may not be suitable for people with mobility issues . We provide a travel cot and a high chair if you are travelling with a small child
