About this property

Rustic village retreat in rural Bulgaria. With cats, dog and chickens 😊

Outdoor summer kitchen, complete with stove, microwave and BBQ.
Wood fired hot tub as a change from the shower.
Friendly animals, fresh eggs from our free ranging hens, meet the locals if you like for a taste of genuine old Bulgaria. Homemade wine/ rakia and homegrown or locally sourced vegetables and other foods.
Wild looking but well tended flower garden with pond, decking and little hidden seating area to chill in in summertime heat.
Wintertime there is a wood stove for that cozy feel when the temperature drops outside or the snow settles. Summertime cooling is with fans, not air-conditioning.

Our village has less than 100 inhabitants, one tiny shop for basic provisions and post office. There is a well stocked shop in the next village, Svishtov on the river Danube is half hour drive by car and historic Veliko Tarnovo is 45 minutes away. There are waterfalls and Roman sites to visit within driving distance. The black sea coast is three hours drive away.
There is a regular bus service to both cities if you don't want to drive.

About the host

Hosted by Adam

Host profile image
Hi. We're originally from the UK and have lived in Bulgaria for over ten years.
We grow and store a lot of our own organic produce and live the ' good life.'
We've been hosts on various platforms for seven years and enjoyed meeting guests who have mostly kept in touch with us since as friends.

Why they chose this property

We chose to live here for the peaceful, laid back feel and to learn how to live more in harmony with nature.

What makes this property unique

At our place you can get away from the hustle and hustle of city life and immerse yourself in a genuine Bulgarian village, without being too far from major historical towns.
