Located in the South Plateau of Spain, the Montes de Toledo separate the basins of the Tajo River and the Guadiana River. They offer a wide range of activities for adventure sports enthusiasts, hiking, and routes in the midst of nature. Due to their proximity to major cities such as Madrid, Ciudad Real, or Toledo, these mountains are the ideal place to disconnect from the hustle and stress of these major urban areas and recharge by engaging in all kinds of activities in one of the most interesting and beautiful areas of the country. The region is rich in holm oak, cork oak, chaparral, and rock outcrop forests, which are characteristic features of these mountains.

The Montes de Toledo are perfect for planning and embarking on day-long trails and routes. There are various options throughout the mountains for exploring places like the sources of rivers such as the Amarguillo, Algodor, or Torcón. These natural landscapes are especially recommended for hiking or cycling enthusiasts in areas of great ecological richness.

One of the highly recommended options in these mountains is to visit the Cabañeros National Park, an ideal place to appreciate a clear example of the typical Mediterranean forest, as well as abundant and diverse wildlife such as deer, wild boars, kestrels, fallow deer, foxes, and partridges. If you visit this area in September, the deer's rutting season is a must-see event. In this park, there are different organized and guided routes that will help you explore this recommended national park.

Bird enthusiasts have an excellent opportunity in the Montes de Toledo to enjoy the various species that nest and live in the area. From the majestic Griffon Vulture to the impressive and beautiful Spanish Imperial Eagle, as well as the Peregrine Falcon and the Royal Owl. You can also enjoy the beautiful Grey Herons and Black Storks. Throughout these mountains, there are different observation points, strategically located, from which you can admire these beautiful species in their natural surroundings, where they find the peace and perfect conditions for raising their young and living.

And don't forget that you can find hiking trails in the same area that will transport you through history.

Visit the Puy du Fou Theme Park.
