Located in the heart of Val Miñor, in the south of the province of Pontevedra, it is one of the best kept secrets in the Rías Baixas. Nigrán is a municipality with seven parishes: Nigrán, Panxón, San Pedro, Parada, Camos, Chandebrito and Priegue, which practically triples its population in the summer months.
It is surrounded by the municipalities of Vigo, Gondomar and Baiona, to the north, east and south, respectively. To the west are the Vigo estuary and the Atlantic Ocean
It is 98 km from Santiago de Compostela by highway, 20 km from the border with Portugal and 12 km from Vigo, the largest city in Galicia. Its geographical location and excellent communications allow access to the municipality by land, sea and air.
Its temperate climate and an orography rich in contrasts allow this municipality to offer many possibilities for leisure and enjoyment. The Nigranese relief is smooth, as the highest levels barely reach 500 meters and its valleys are wide. Its coast offers us immense sandy beaches such as Playa América, but also forest areas in the mountains of Chandebrito, Camos, Monte Castelo, or on the very shore of the sea, as is the case with Monteferro or Monte Lourido.
Two rivers flow into its coast: the Miñor, which flows into the extreme south-west of the municipality, creating an estuary that becomes a marsh, a natural space of singular beauty, and the small Muíños river which flows into Playa América.
