A modern cottage based on a traditional vineyard cottage or “zidanica” this property offers a complete escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. Set on a gentle hillside the cottage looks out over a gloriously unspoiled valley, with lush fields and streams. On the other side, it is protected by dense forest. It makes the ideal retreat for friends or family.

Spread over 2 floors, the cottage sleeps 4 people in comfort. On the ground floor guests will find a fully equipped kitchen with a cooker hob, oven, microwave, dishwasher, fridge, freezer and coffee machine plus a large kitchen table for more informal meals. Next to the kitchen is the dining room with a large wine barrel table for casual get-togethers and a wooden dining table for 6 people. Sliding glass doors lead out onto a covered terrace with another dining table and BBQ for meals al fresco.

On the first floor, there is light-filled living room, complete with a private sauna. The living room is furnished with a comfortable corner sofa and a flat-screen TV. A glass door leads outside to a charming shaded balcony, with sun loungers, which looks out over the valley and is an ideal place for guests to relax and enjoy some peace and quiet.

Location
The cottage is in the heart of the Bela Krajina region in south-eastern Slovenia. The area is famous for its vineyards and unspoiled countryside. The historic town of Crnomelj is just 10 minutes away. Here you will be able to find most necessities in the local supermarket or smaller stores.

For visitors who want to get out into nature, there are many hiking trails through the pristine landscapes as well as scenic cycling routes. The nearby Kolpa River, with its pristine waters, has many bathing spots for swimming, as well as canoeing and kayaking.

Ljubljana’s international airport is 1 hour 45 minutes away. Two closer airports are in Croatia - Zagreb and Rijeka airports are both 1 hour and 25 minutes.
