Pietrasanta, a center of attraction for great artists since past centuries, in recent decades the city has transformed into a true open-air museum in which to admire, among the many galleries and squares of the town, an uninterrupted and continually renewed exhibition of art contemporary and sculpture of the highest level.
The city has earned the nickname of Little Athens thanks to the concentration of artists who have decided to settle here over the years, also thanks to the masterful local artisan workshops, specialized at the highest level in the processing of marble and bronze; among the best known of the last decades it is worth mentioning at least Igor Mitoraj and Fernando Botero, as well as other important ones such as Emmanuel Fillon.
Art is associated with the great Tuscan food and wine tradition and culture, highlighted by the numerous restaurants and bars that enliven the town with their numerous outdoor tables all year round.
For car parking there are several free public car parks a few hundred meters away just outside the walls of the historic center which is a pedestrian area; however, it is possible to reach the house by car, albeit at two specific times in the morning and afternoon. The train station is also very close for guests who prefer to travel by train.
It is 3 km from the sea, which can also be reached by cycle path, 3.5 km from Forte dei Marmi and 5 km from Viareggio. It is 39 km from Pisa Cathedral and Piazza dei Miracoli and 35 km from Lucca, another beautiful medieval Tuscan city. Both Pisa and Lucca are also easily reachable by train (30/35 minutes).
The nearest airport is Pisa International Airport, 44 km from Pietrasanta.
