Renter Beware
Friday check in: Rented this place through VRBO, received the codes to access the property from the very responsive host. When we got to the place, the code worked, but the places seemed lived in, no beds were made, seemed sketchy. Tried calling the host and her number was either disconnected or no longer accepting calls. I sent the once responsive host a message through VRBO, no response. Contacted VRBO, they tried all the numbers they had for the host and they can’t get through to them either. I tell them I want my money back and they said they can’t refund my money just because the place wasn’t clean and I needed to contact the host. I tell them I tried all means to contact the host and they can’t contact the host how am I supposed to contact a non-responsive host. I told them even though we could get into the place we didn’t feel safe staying there, they again told me to contact the host. I asked to speak with a supervisor and they said one would call me back, two days later I’m still waiting for a VRBO supervisor to call me back.
Update: host unreachable all weekend, but conveniently responded on our checkout day saying she wasn’t having any issues with her phone and that the place was clean when she went there at 4:30, checkin was at 3 and we were outside the place until 4. Why did she wait until Sunday to respond if her phone was properly working?
