About this property
Barbon Cottage - Two Bedroom House, Sleeps 4
This stunning luxury hideaway – once the village post office – has been beautifully transformed into a magnificent retreat. The two-bedroom home is tucked away in a peaceful village, sitting equidistant (3 miles) from both the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park and the Forest of Bowland National Landscape. You’ll be spoilt for choice when it comes to outdoor explorations, with sites like Malham Cove (19.5 miles) and Ingleborough Cave (8 miles) – so pull on your hiking boots and pack a hearty picnic for some scenic walks. If you’re keen to discover the area’s more urban delights, head to historic Kirkby Lonsdale (6 miles) or charming Kendal (18.5 miles). The market towns of Settle (13 miles) and Hawes (19.5 miles) also give you a real taste of the region.
Step inside to discover a beautifully designed space with elegant wooden floors and tasteful artwork on the walls. The large lounge/diner has window seats overlooking the village on one side and plenty of comfortable spots to sit and relax. A Smart TV and cosy wood burner set you up for toasty evenings in. The dining table sits to the right, ideal for laid-back meals or laying out a map to plan tomorrow’s adventures. Beyond that, the light-filled kitchen/diner, kitted out in sleek monochrome tones, flows into a rear utility room – a handy spot for boots and coats. Underfloor heating runs throughout the property for added comfort. A steep spiral staircase leads upstairs, where lovely wooden beams feature, a reminder of the building’s long history. There are two elegant king-size bedrooms, one with an en-suite featuring a roll-top bath with shower attachment and WC. The main bathroom offers a walk-in shower, bath and WC.
To reach the outdoor space, head through the kitchen to the enclosed courtyard garden filled with flowers and seating where you can kick back with a drink or meal in the fresh air. Plenty of parking is available close by to the property.
