Oh my, where do I begin?! This amazing resort has a little bit of everything, scenery, convenience,
accommodations, amenities, etc. When we first heard about this place nestled in the mountains of Park
City, Utah, we didn’t realize what a gem it was. In what started as a little, mining town in the early days,
Park City has grown to become one of the top ski destinations in the country, hosted the 2002 Winter
Olympics and home to one of the premier 5-star resorts in North America! In fact, this resort held most
all the snowboard events during those Olympics and has since been the site of many more snowboard competitions as the resort has grown to become of the largest resorts in the country.
Westgate Park City Resort is only a 45 minute drive from Salt Lake City airport. It’s one of the most beautiful scenic drives you’ll ever make through the majestic, snow covered mountains of Utah. That’s just the beginning as you wind your way through the mountains, you’ll pass an area for cross-country skiing, some quaint, little neighborhoods like something out of a movie with Christmas lights across the
rooftops and training facility home to the U.S. Ski Team. Here you can see their unbelievable ski jumps up close, visit their fascinating, hands-on museum and even opt for a bobsled ride down the ski team’s actual, practice track. But if you’d prefer to visit that training facility later, it’s just a short drive from your final destination at
the picturesque, Westgate ski-in/ski-out.
It’s conveniently located off the main drive/highway, and one of the first stops as you’re coming into town. You can’t miss the main entrance on the right-hand side
with a Park City Mountain Resort sign and convenience store on the corner. As you turn in, you’ll see ski parking on the left and a gondola to help other visitors get up to the ski village and base of the slopes. Don’t worry about parking however, you’ll come up the hill to find you have your own, underground parking right underneath the resort and just feet away from elevators up to your room.
During your stay, you’ll find that the amenities and accommodations are great! From shops and restaurants to your own ski lockers and storage to keep all your equipment warm and ready for the next morning to hit the slopes! There’s a central, kid’s area with ping pong tables, an indoor/outdoor pool with lounge chairs for the adults and two, outside hot tubs! A short walk from here is an arcade for the kids and top of the line spa area for the adults. For you night owls, there’s a pizza restaurant/bar on the
main level and an adults-only pool, sauna and spa open til 11pm.
There’s truly so much to do you’d never have to leave if you didn’t want to. But for all you shoppers, there’s plenty of shops to choose from whether you stay in the ski village, venture across the street long the main drive/ highway into town or take a short trip up to Main Street. You’ve gotta visit Main Street at least once or twice on your trip as you’ll find plenty of restaurants, some of the most unique shops around from glass blowing to art galleries as well as popular chains like Columbia.
