This warm, welcoming and characterful Circa 1880 home has been beautifully restored and gives you that wonderful feeling of being hugged when you step through the front door.
With exquisite and unique collections, fine antique furnishings, a cosy and generous fireplace bookings include the entire cottage providing the perfect romantic getaway for one couple or alternatively a wonderful experience for two couples to explore the historic and welcoming town of Tenterfield.
The space
Comprising two generous bedrooms, lounge room with cozy fireplace, dining room with access to a private courtyard, beautiful timber kitchen with electric appliances, island bench and a Cook's dream of an oven, main bathroom featuring gorgeous leadlight windows, shower and toilet, additional toilet and fully equipped laundry, large front verandah that catches the afternoon sun all within walking distance to all the facilities of historical Tenterfield.
This beautiful home was built as a gift of love over 100 years ago and is now offered for your enjoyment by Sarah.
Guest access
Car accommodation is located in the private gardens at the rear of the cottage and with 1/2 acre there is plenty of room to while away the hours reading, sharing local wines & produce or watching the beautiful Birdlife sharing the clear mountain air on your relaxing getaway. Some songs and antics you will be blessed with include Yellow Thornhill, Fairy Wren, Bower birds, Magpie, Firetail, Rosella to name a few.
Other things to note
Awen Cottage is my home so we ask for your care in staying and leaving it as far as possible as you found it.
Requests for late check-out must be organised prior to booking confirmation.
Currently we are not accepting children or pets as we wish to keep the cottage especially for adults. We advise this upfront and respectfully ask you not to put us in the position of having to decline your booking.
